Help with Mexican traditions at church

I need some suggestions please. I wasn't raised to follow Mexican traditions, and my fiance was. I was aware that we were to ask for padrinos de lazo, arras, iglesia, etc. but I was not aware that by asking for padrinos de iglesia meant they will be standing next to me and my fiance during the mass. Who will I pass my bouquet to, or who will fix my veil/train? I wish I would have done my research, because now I do not know what to do. Any suggestions please?

Re: Help with Mexican traditions at church

  • Personally, I feel that wedding planning is complicated enough, even for the simplest ceremonies, and anyone requesting traditions needs to do the research on them. So, ask your fiance these questions first. If he doesn't know, ask him to ask his family. If they're still stumped, there's a Latino Weddings board here, and I'm sure your library has books to help you.
  • Have you tried the Latino Weddings board?  Its on the list of "Cultural Wedding Boards" on the left.  Someone might have a helpful answer there.  Good luck!
