KPS - Hoarders

Question.  I have a large area of our one bedroom apartment that is currently cluttered with wedding stuff.  Extra paper, invites, crafty things, wedding magazines etc.  Do I save it?  Throw it away?

How much will I want when I'm old and want to reminisce?

I'd save a few invites, I guess. After years of saving crap because I'm sentimental, only to throw it away a decade later, I say throw it away now. I seriously doubt you'll ever want any of it again.

I vote to keep one invite and have it framed. Get rid of the rest. Magazines, extra paper, etc either throw away/recycle or give to a friend/relative who is planning a wedding now.

But I also HATE clutter of any kind.  I refuse to keep anything that I don't use/need anymore. Funny how this just developed in the past couple of years - I think it's a result from moving 4 times in 2 years.  Each time to  a new state.

I'd keep a few invites.  After my grandma died (grandfather had been gone for a few years at that point) we found one of her wedding invitations amongst her personal papers and other things she'd kept of sentimental value.  I thought it was really cool that she'd held onto it that long (59 years).  Your kids and grandkids might want to see it one day.

yeah I like the idea of saving an invite.  It just feels so weird to throw the rest away.

    I kept a few invites.

I'd keep anything crafty that can be used in the future for other projects.  A paper cutter, keep.  10 left over glue dots?  Toss.

I'm not real time yet but I'm loving it so far.  But the fact that he got soy ice cream makes me sad because I WANT SOME.

You probably don't want to keep the ends of bits of paper that you cut off other things. For some reason, I have a really hard time throwing away paper trimmings after scrapbooking and such and this makes me think that someday I will die when a stack of newspapers fall on top of me.

    Hehe sarahnumbers made me giggle.

I haven't yet decided what to do with my wedding clutter. Our card box has turned in to a Wedding Memory Box, and we are keeping some things in there. Our placecards, the mounted "master" guest/table assignment list we had posted by the escort card table... but a lot of the leftover DIY stuff will probably end up in the trash sooner or later. We're definitely getting an invite framed.

I've saved things like the cake topper, the knife/server, 2 invitations (for scrapbook purposes) and I think that's pretty much it. I do still have my bouquet that I dried, but I'm contemplating throwing it away. It was so beautiful, and that's why I want to save it, but for what purpose? They're dead flowers and not even a fraction as pretty as they were that day.

I sent my cardbox to Squirrly, and I told the hotel to keep the ornaments from our centerpieces if they wanted, because apparently guests were taking ornaments out of the centerieces (tacky, much?) and some of the ornaments technically belonged to the hotel. The rest of the centerpiece components DID belong to the hotel (the hurricane globes and mirrors) so I never had to have that clutter.

I'd personally toss things that can't be reused, become decorative or go into a scrapbook.

I saved one magazine, just because I wish I had a magazine from the era my parents married - I think it would be cool to see the dress styles, the advertisements, etc.  Otherwise, I agree with the others.

I have a ridic amount of stuff piled in my closet. I'm saving a few of each paper item - invite, STD, program, menu. I'm going to scrapbook it later. I'll also save 1 or 2 of our centerpieces, and I'm selling the rest.
