Rant: For being a Friday before a holiday, the phones are ringing quite a bit.... And we are very understaffed because it is a Friday before a holidy. uhhhhh. Can 4:00 get here faster?

Rave: Its a long weekend! So excited to have some quality time with the FI. And tomorrow I will take my new car down to Bremerton to take a driving skills class. So that will be fun, and terrifying as I have only been driving the stick for 3 weeks. I'll have to see how it will turn out, if anything, I'm just really looking forward to driving it fast :]]

Rant: Still sick with the same stupid ol' cold I've had for about 9 days. I'm better, but I still need DayQuil to keep functional.

Rave: 3-day weekend! And usually we get out of work 2 1/2 hours early on the Friday before a holiday weekend. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get out early today!

Woohoo, I have time to participate today.

Rant: I finally empathize with all the past Knotties who always ranted about RSVPs........We have one week to go before the deadline and have only recieved half of the RSVPs back. Damn slackers! Ohhh and most of the RSVPs we have gotten back were from people we knew were either definitely coming or definitely not coming......The people we are unsure about are the people that we have not gotten RSVPs back from yet. GAHHH!

Rant: I miss you guys. I hardly get a chance to come on and post.

Rave: I am almost done with my 1st quarter of student teaching. It sure was a whirlwind and I am actually exciting that I have just about made it through.

We have less than a week left and 60% of our guest list has not come in yet. And they're all our local friends which is driving me nuts. I'd have expected them to RSVP first.

Samesies!!! It happens so often that my FI keeps asking me if I am getting out early. HAH! I just keep waiting for the official anouncement. It sucks

Since it's Rant & Rave day:

Once you have all your RSVPs, your guests might make things interesting.... at my wedding we had:
*1 guest (who was 100% MIA 3 weeks prior to the wedding and did NOT RSVP at all) show up WITH her 3-ish year old daughter. And yes, our wedding did not have any children invited under the age of 14. And this guest was my cousin <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-yell.gif" border="0" alt="Yell" title="Yell" />

*1 other guest (an uncle of mine) show up AFTER he and my aunt had RSVP'd yes, then e-mailed me that they actually couldn't come RIGHT after I had sent in final numbers to the caterer.

*Another uncle of mine RSVP'd yes, and was a TOTAL no-show, still haven't heard from him.

*And one of my friend's who NEVER mailed back her RSVP (that I supplied postage for!), but did get back to me via FB, RSVP'd Yes via FB msg, and TOLD me (not asked) that she was bringing a friend (and after a week of that message she FINALLY told me her friend's name for the place card)---- yeah, total NO-SHOW!!! I have not heard one word from her since the wedding. I limited the crap out of my privacy settings for her on FB. Biznatch!

And if any of you want to have a contest on whose family is more White Trash regarding Wedding Etiquette.... I'm 100% a contender for that one! I could go on and on.... no gifts/cards, jeans worn, omg...

But REGARDLESS of all of this stuff (that annoys the crap out of me when I think of it now) DID NOT matter on my wedding day, and if this kind of stuff happens to you, it won't ruin your day either <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" /> But it is all the more reason to have a DOC at least! Then a lot of that madness will be THEIR problem!!!

I'm planning to have my coordinator turn away any one who comes but did not RSVP. At that point, I don't really care if it's rude or hurts their feelings. They can suck it up and go home.

We have tables with a seating chart and butterfly place cards hooked into the wine glasses at each seating.

The ones who have no place to sit will be pretty obvious and they will be politely escorted off the premises. :P

I know we pay our vendors to do things for us, but I don't think my vendors should go out of their way to accommodate rude people who couldn't be bothered to RSVP. No need to try and rustle up more chairs and more plates and more tables or more food. XD

We aren't having a seating chart, which is probably why I didn't think of that idea. But that totally makes sense!

We had a seating chart (with seats assigned at each table, not just people assigned to a table), so the people who showed up unexpectedly (3 total) were able to sit at the spots where the No-Shows (also 3 total) were supposed to sit. So it worked out well enough. We also had buffet dinner, so there weren't any issues with people getting food they couldn't/wouldn't eat.

Rant: Reading about how you're all excited to leave work early reminds me of how I have nothing exciting to look forward about this weekend. Also reminds me of how down-hearted I felt when the register guy at Safeway asked if I had any plans for the weekend. FI works for a week straight, I don't get to see him.

Rave: Finally chose our monogram.

Rant: It's raining. Even when the sun pops out, it continues to rain.

Rave: FI has been super affectionate during the short hours we get to spend together in between his shifts. Love the little extra attention

Rant: I have been super paranoid of spiders in my house ever since Monday, when I killed an unnaturally GIGANTIC one in my living room. Never having a fear of spiders before, I didn't know I could be so squeamish.
