Yep, I'm already down 3 capt cokes.  My grandpa died last night so I'm letting myself let loose.  We also have a friend coming down this weekend and we'll go to the Nickelback concert in town on Monday, so I'm going to be getting more drink on later.

*I've had to edit this several times to get it all right.  Yay for KUI*

I am SO EFFING BORED. I'm still at work. 2 hours til I leave.

Then: gym, dinner (FI got a GC to a pub we like) and a party to kick off my kickball season. See what I did there? Kick? Yeah, okay.

Oh, and I just wrote a bigass post on WP because I'm afraid one of my BMs has dropped out without telling me. Oy.

I feel like I am going to vomit, my feet kill, and would love a margartia. Luckily for me I live above an amazing mexican restaurant... but I am too lazy to move after standing in the most uncomfortable shoes for an hour.

I did not. :-( I thought you would be mad at me. And I wasn't near a computer for most of the time, either, so I couldn't message you.

We got into Buffalo Friday morning. I drove FI around my grandparents' home town. We had lunch. We checked into our hotel. We napped. We went to dinner. We met up with my childhood BFF for drinks and to meet her FI.

Saturday we went to the 5 and dime store in my home town, had to meet up for a tour of a Frank Lloyd Wright house, had lunch, did a little more touring around Buffalo, and then went to my high school reunion.

Sunday morning we left Buffalo to visit my parents who live 3 hours away.

We drove back to Buffalo Tuesday, but I barely had time to stop at the Sabres store before we had to be at the airport.

So a jam packed weekend unfortunately. NEXT TIME I will make it to Canada.

Hey, I love Nickelback, so we can agree to disagree on that!

Thanks everyone.  He's in a much better place, comfortable and not in pain anymore.  He was lucid until Wednesday, and has been knocked out on morphine since so it wasn't long.  I'm happy about that.  My aunt had a device her company is developing that measures oxygen saturation in the blood, so they were able to watch that and see as it dropped, and were able to wake grandma up in time to say goodbye before he went.  I'm glad for that.

He does NOT look like that! This is a bad pic of him (some pics are cute and in some my friend says he looks like an alien). If I were to pick a celeb he looked like, it would be Clive Owen. He has cute ears that stick out.

And Nebb, shhhhh about Nickelback! Her grandpa died. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />

I'm here just trying to stay awake. It's just after 12:30 here in Berlin and I have to be at the airport for an early flight at 5:00 am which means I would have to wake up at 3:00 to get there in time so I am just trying to stay awake all night and sleep on the plane. We'll see how that goes!

What are you doing in Berlin? Do you live there? I was there 2 years ago and I had a great time! IT was just for 8 days, and I don't speak any German, but I loved it. I actually liked it better than Prague. Everyone always says to me, "Isn't Prague the BEST? It's soooo pretty." Well, yeah, but Berlin was more fun.

lol  They put on a decent show last time we saw them.  And it got my concert boyfriend up here for a weekend, so it's good enough for me, since he didn't come to see Godsmack and Zombie with me last weekend.

It's the hair, isn't it? Oliver is just gray around his temples and in the back a little. He started going gray around 27. My dad also has really dark hair and he started going gray at 25. BUT FFIL will be 69 this year and still has allll of his hair, even though it's white now, so that's something.

Yes, I live in Berlin. I teach at a bilingual school here. My German still isn't great but it is pretty easy to get by in Berlin as most people speak pretty good English. It is a super fun city. I just spent a weekend here while I was living in Brussels two years ago and decided before I left that my next teaching job would be in Berlin. I moved here in August of last year and am super happy I decided to do it.

That is one HELL of a big spider. If I saw a spider that big, I couldn't be in the same room with it.

Which reminds me, when FI got home last night he found one of the cats sitting in the kitchen by the garbage can, staring at a caterpillar that somehow got into the house.

FI: "I'm glad Sam didn't eat it. That would have been gross. I flushed it instead."
Me: "Uh, you could have just put it back outside.

That is one huge-ass spider.  Even I, the fearless insect slayer of the household, would not be within a broomstick-grabby-thingy distance of it.
