Venue advice

I am going and touring a venue that we really like tomorrow. I am going with one of my bridesmaids because FI works days and I work graveyard and the only days he seems to be off other than sunday are the days that I have to sleep. So we are making due.
Any advice on what I should ask about when we are there? I'm planning on taking pictures for FI, but I don't know what else I can do to involve him. I'll definitely take notes and discuss everything with him that night.

Re: Venue advice

  • Did you get a price list first?  I asked them to send me price lists before I visited the venues.  Then I priced out literally everything.  When I went to the venue, I went over the numbers to see what I was missing.  It was really telling- some venues had crazy hidden costs.  Good luck!

  • They did already send me a price list already. I listed everything and the prices so far, but I am sure there are fees somewhere that I do not know about.
  • I asked about bathrooms because I have a very large guest list.  I also have a lot of OOT guests and asked about hotels around the venue that provided shuttles.

I am doing my ceremony at my venue so I made sure to ask about the plan B if it rained.

  • I agree with asking about bathrooms if they aren't clearly located.

I'd also ask if they allow rehearsals and if that's an extra fee, unless it's stated in the info you already have.

  • If you are planing to do catering through them ask if there is a tasting fee.  Also I know in my city if there is alcohol surved with more than 75 people security (police officer) is required ask if that fee is included.  Tear down- ask if they do it and is there a fee.  Pick up of your items ( center pieces and other decorations)- ask if they need to go with you that night or can you pick them up the next day.
