Finally Picked a venue!!!

So RI knotties-- -   i have posted about being soo confused and not knowing where to book a venue.

I went to the Casino an loooved it---and Glen Manor was really my first choice-- but i wouldnt be able to stay with my 25-30k budget at all-- and i dont want to sacrafice good food...
 but i really want something by the water---

i was at my sorority reunion this weekend and i took some of the girls with me back to the Towers to take a second look (free of my mother...)
my friends loved it-- no one noticed the floor i thought looked like it needed refinishing- or the broken light in the elevator-- they thought i was being so picky and crazy!!

It was set up for Saturday nights weedding-- and after I asked guests (who were across the street at coast guard) how the wedding was--- they said it was the most amaxing wedding ever-- they enjoyed the view and the historic building.


Tonight I asked my fiance what place he was leaning toward and told him i made  up my mind,,,, we both wrote down out number 1 pick onto a paper and switched-- we both had the towers written down!... now i just have to deal with Kate Vivian UGHHH

    congrats! that's a really cute story :-) and an awesome venue!

    Happily Married!! 5.29.11 was THE best day of our lives!

    Congrats!!! I was a Towers bride and it is an amazing venue. You don't have to deal with Kate all that much.

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:39 and BRCA1+, DH:44
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#5 11/12 bad embryos= BFFN
    FINAL DE IVF #6 1/13: cancelled as second donor backed out during stims
    Was added last minute as 3rd recipient to new donor on 1/18; ET1/23/13
    2/1/13 BFP for the first time ever; Beta hell for several weeks: miscarriage 7 wks

    Wonderful!  Once you nail down your caterer, they deal with Kate from here on out.  (If you want them to.)  And remember, she does weddings there all the time, she knows what she is doing.  Great check!

    jl--- i know you might be disappointed we didint go with teh Casino afterall-- but thank you for the suggestion!! I did love it, I just want to be oceanside- and since I went to URI and lived in narragansett --- Towers held a special place in my <3

    I was liking your post until I read the comment about the floors at the Towers...really?

    Also, husband and I worked with Kate and she came through for us in amazing ways so you should probably reserve your negative comments until after your experience.

    jrus- you may or may not have seen my other postings--
    Ive been dealing with kate for two months now, trying to get in touch. This week alone I called her 6 times before she called back...

    She actually didint even Show up to our first appointment-- I had to call her and she told me she forgot because her daugher was ill.... we "showed" the place to ourselves-- so with a chip on our shoulder, we did pick out all the negatives that we otherwise would not have noticied----
    She called me later in the week so say sorry she missed the appt, she was at hte Newport Folk Festival
    so my quams about Kate are validated.

    thats just my experience. I am glad you had a good one

    I have actually spoken to Kate yesterday and I told her how I was concerned etc. She told me to be patient and that sinice I have a lot of time-- to come down in the fall when she is more available and has more time to chat with us (which I thought was really nice of her)
