The song Lauren is talking about is "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas, probably the song I would pick as well.

You never know what will make people dance though.  Probably the most popular songs at my wedding were "Shake Your Groove Thing" and "Ho*ky Tonk Woman." (The stupid Knot made me edit that.)

Ditto pp on anything Michael Jackson, his songs will always get the crowd moving. And I'm sure some girls will disagree.. but Lady Gaga.. whenever her songs come on at a club/bar everyone goes nuts and starts dancing.

"Empire State of Mind" by Jay Z and Alicia Keys <3 it!
"Where the Party At" by Jagged Edge
"Crazy in Love" by Beyonce and Jay Z

We had all the couples join us on the dance floor & played "I got You Babe".

We played alot of rat pack & swing stuff. But after all the formal stuff, guests just requested stuff. I think the YMCA got played as well as me witnessing my new husband & cousin reenacting the dance/fight sequence from Michael Jackson's "Beat It"...it was good & really funny. I think there was some funk/disco/70's stuff played too.

Our DJ is a friend and we all worked Halloween Haunt at Knott's Berry Farm together and he plays a giant werewolf...so I danced with him to Werewolves of London.

Key goal at least for me is to play at least a few songs that everyone knows. So play new music but dont forget the 80s or those precious oldies! Get a good range of songs for everyone to enjoy.

Here are some you might be missing:

    Dashboard Lights by MeatLoaf
    YMCA
    Brown Eyed Girl
    Brick House
Mony Mony.. idk the spelling on that.
    Electric Slide
    Escape (The Pina Colada Song)
    Please Don't Go - K.C. & The Sunshine Band
    Build me up Buttercup
    Bye Bye Ms American Pie
    Bennie & the Jets
    Play that Funky Music
    Baby Got Back
    Unbelievable
    Everybody's Free to Feel Good

and you have enough other suggestions for modern music.
    Hope this helps!

    Best Wishes!!!

This is tough cause I love to dance and could dance to almost anything!

    Love shack
    Mustang Sally
like some PP said, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson
For any country fans, I love a rainy night by Eddie Rabbit

Also at my friends wedding they played the YMCA and the DJ had little costumes (mostly just hats I think) that her brothers and some grooms men wore to look like the village people, that was hystericle (sp?) and a big hit!
