Guest book

We made our guestbook through Shutterfly using pics of us from the past year or so.  My problem is how do I let out guests know that it is okay to sign the book as well.  I have ultra fine sharpies for them to sign with.  I had thought about making up a sign and putting it in a picture frame, but I am not sure what it should say.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks for your help in advance, I have 11 days to go.  I can't believe it is almost here.

I've found that just sitting the pens/markers with the book signals guests to sign it. I feel like this is pretty commonplace nowadays so people have caught on to the idea and know what to do.

You could also have a guest book attendant to watch it during cocktail hour and ask guests to sign it.

Other than that, your idea of putting out a picture frame with instructions sounds like how I might handle it, for those who don't know to sign the book.

If you set it out near the escort cards, then I think that your guests will get the hint, especially with the sharpies right next to it. But if you'd feel more comfortable making a sign, then I think a simple "Please sign our guestbook!" would do the trick.

If you want people to do more than just write their names (aka leave a short message) I think you should have a sign that indicates that.  Otherwise, people may just sign their names.  Your sign could say something like "Please leave a message for the couple."

You could also have your bridal party already write in it, so a page that's been written on is displayed, allowing guests to follow the example.  This way you're not starting with unwritten pages.
