Our target budget is around 17-18k. Our venue was about $8,000 (ceremony and reception), my dress was about $1,500. That already reaches about 10k. Then plus all of the vendors and decorations. That should take us to about 17k.

our budget is 25k. Our venue minimum alone is 11,000 but we'll go over that by atleast 5,000. my dress was over a grand and photo/video was 4200. and we still have alot to do...

I haven't been given an exact budget.  My parents are paying for everything.  I am an only child and obvi their only daughter.  My mum was thinking around 30K, but from looks of things possibly 35-40k...

5K...Its more than likely going to be just me and Fi paying for everything...atleast thats what it seems like so far. Currently our guest max is 60 and our venue (Ceremony + Reception ) is only 800 but still perfect for what I want. Our biggest expenses will probably be the flowers and Food. He's a in Web design and will be making our invites. and I love artsy kinds of things so most of the favors and things will probably be done by me and friends at my church. I THANK God I have so many friends in different fields which cuts my photography, and cake cost's. I work at Davids Bridal so I plan on taking advantage of my discount where ever I can ^_^

4k would be nice if we could get everything with that.

We thought we were going to spend a lot less... but it's looking like $35,000 right now with a lot of people contributing.  I'm glad to see the other NE person is spending around what I'm spending.  Things are so expensive here and I don't even feel like I'm planning any over the top.

You're telling me.  We went to see a florist and I was in culture shock at how much the estimate was.  NE is super expensive.

Our budget is $40k.  I'm hoping to come in at around $30k though.

I don't usually answer budget questions because I feel like I would be judged or side-eyed but really, NJ is one of the most expensive places to have a wedding & we have a decent amount of guests (mostly family).  Our wedding is by no means over the top, at all, IMO.

I believe you! If we weren't having 60 ppl at our wedding, we'd probably have to spend about the same. I'm lucky if we cut off at 18k... we better lol

Haha, my SIL talked to a florist about her wedding recently.  She's been in complete denial about the amount of money her wedding is costing, but she called me shocked that the lowest price she saw for flowers was $2,000 and that was for practically nothing.  I was like "mmmm hmmm" and saying "told you so" in my head! lol

It's so interesting to see what things cost around the country. There are plenty of venues here that are costly, but there are also a lot of inexpensive ones too compared to what's on the east coast for example.

My venue has a $1k rental fee, and I get to bring in all my own vendors except the beverage provider. I don't have a minimum on food and beverage (thank gawd), and since my venue already looks nice on the inside, we won't have to invest much into decor. Booked my photographer before she raised her prices, so only paying $1500 for a very well known MN wedding photgrapher. Also, FI's cousin is a DJ so we'll be using his company and a colleague will work our wedding for $200.

We are hoping to come in under 5k, right now I am estimating 4500, we will have that much saved up before the wedding, so we will enter our married life with no debt from our wedding.  We already decided if we have extra money saved, we will add some fun things to do on our honey moon :)
