Trip Advisor recently released the top 10 All Inclusive Resorts in the world and one of the board favorites: Secrets Maroma Beach made it! I'm also glad to see none of the Sandals resorts made the cut..

We get so many posts asking for good suggestions for AI's so I thought maybe this list would be a great sticky post as it lists AI's from all over the world. Some of these places look incredible and perfect for a HM and not all of them are budget busters! HTH future knotties on the HM search.

1. Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in Playa Paraiso, Mexico.

2. Garonga Safari Camp in Makalali Private Game Reserve, South Africa.

3. Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico

6. East Winds Inn in Gros Islet, St. Lucia

8. Ceylon Tea Trails in Hatton, Sri Lanka

9. Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel in Pu*ta Cana, Dominican Republic

10. The Caves in Negril, Jamaica

All of these places look amazing, and 3 out of the 10 are in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico which is the most suggested place on this board. Which is great that we've been stearing people in the right direction.

We are staying at the Iberostar Grand in Playa Paraiso, and I am so freakin' EXCITED!!  It's pretty cool that it wound up as the #1 spot, which makes me even more EXCITED!!!  Honeymoons should last forever
    Anniversary
  • My friend and her husband just went there for her honeymoon and she absolutely loves couples negril!!! Amazing place
  • We've stayed or had couple stay at Iberostar Grand Paraiso (I stayed at Del Mar hotel on resort; would not rec), Secrets Maroma and Iberostar Grand Bavaro; from our experience/family's feedback; they're all wonderful!
  • Just asking because I'm a newbie to all of this party of wedding planning--what is wrong (or inferior) about the Sandals Resorts?  I was under the impression they were the best!  I know they have attentive service, according to friends who have stayed there.  I am ALL about finding an even better place, but what puts these above the Sandals?  Thanks so much for this great info!

Very late... but Sandals tends to be over priced for what you get. They have a huge overhead for advertising. There are some brides on here that swear by them but many others have been to numerous resorts and just thought that Sandals didn't live up to the hype.

We are using the Cruise Desk to help us with our plans.  Just by having family we are getting our wedding free on Royal Caribbean!  They were so great in helping us to get it setup.  If we get enough of our family and frineds to join us, they will set us up in a Royal Suite as well as have the wedding and reception for us at no cost...  We couldn't pass up the offer - and they said they can still get this for others too!  But I guess you have to book or block by May or June, but you can have the wedding anytime in 2014... not sure if they go into 2014..  but you can always ask them.  [email protected] or [email protected].

Bottom line is Sandals is over advertised and over priced. If people just researched a little more they would find much nicer resorts for a fraction of the cost. I also feel like "we're going to Sandals in St. Lucia" is just way overdone. Go somewhere new! Friends of ours spent more to honeymoon at Sandals in St. Lucia than we did to honeymoon in Fiji which is just absurd to me!

Plus a lot of travel agents are affiliated with Sandals so they push the resorts, so do your own research before going to see a travel agent (if you're going to) and find other resorts that'll get you a lot more for your money.
  •  East Winds Inn in St. Lucia... Amazing!!
  • Hi, I was just curious on how you got your wedding countdown! It's so cute, i want one! :)

  • Hi All,

So we've been going crazy trying to find just the right honeymoon.  We are honeymooning for 7-10 days in the beginning of November.  We love the beach and would like an all-inclusive with a relaxed atmosphere.  But I def want our hotel room to have a balcony as well as jacuzzi in the room.  Thoughts/ ideas?  We are looking to spend 5-6K total and that's pushing it.  We'd like to go somewhere that's once in a lifetime but I just don't know where.  There are SOO many options.  We are looking into a place that has some activities like horseback riding/ dolphins/ and some cultural aspect but mainly intersted in relaxing on the beach.  Anything helps..thanks!
  • Hi! I'm trying to find an all inclusive resort that is not within the hurricane belt since our wedding is mid September of this year. Does anyone have any suggestions? All inclusive is a must, we're looking to go for about 10 nights and trying to keep it under 6k.
  • Is the most efficient way of getting the best deal going directly through their sites?  How did you all go about it?  Thanks in advance!
  • Very interesting places. Definitely want to visit a few of these places.
