Military Brides

wedding invite wording

Hey everyone I need a little help. My fiance is in the Navy, he did his four years and is now an active reservist. He's a second class petty officer (e5), and were trying to figure out how to write his name on the invitation. How do i write i? i know that there is a site here to help but it didnt really clear anything up for me.

is this correct (omitting names)::

My Parents request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter

My Name

to

His Name
Second Class Petty Officer, Unites States Navy

???

or should i omit the second class part and just write United States Navy?

Re: wedding invite wording

  • You would write

    John Doe
    United States Navy

    Are you guys having a military wedding? H and I put his branch of service on the invite so people knew it was a mil wedding.
    I hate Dave Ramsey
  • Stan is correct.  Like she also mentioned, if you are not having a military wedding, you do not need to include his branch.
