Beach Wedding and Reception???

I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction.  My fiance and I got engaged on 5-6-12 and we are looking at a January 2014 wedding.  We want to have a beach wedding AND reception...all in the same location.  We will be bringing in outside caterers and all other vendors.  We are looking for somewhere as far north as Santa Barbara and as far south as San Diego.

Any suggestions, tips, or warnings???

    We are having our wedding at La Palapa in Long Beach. You can get married on the sand, and have a reception in a gorgeous ballroom with ocean views. It's actually pretty reasonable price-wise too, and the food is great (we've had  our tasting already).
