Hotel ideas in Oahu?

We are going on our honeymoon in June/July 2011, looking for ideas on hotels in Oahu. I'd prefer something right on the beach. I've never been and there are so many options out there. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks!

I've never been, but Turtle Bay looks really nice and offers private bungalow-type rooms right on the beach. It's one of the places my FI and I are looking into.

Turtle Bay is nice and quite secluded PLUS the North Shore beaches are great for swimming and snorkeling during the summer months. The girls on the HI board often go to the Ilihani or the Ko Olina on the west coast too.

FWIW, Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach has thin walls. Just my personal experience!

My family went two years ago, and granted a family vacation is totally different from a honeymoon, but we stayed at the waikiki marina resort at the ilikai, and loved it!! It was right on the beach, right next to the marina which was beautiful at night, and super close to all the attractions. It had a full kitchen and living room too if you're looking for that!

I went last year and stayed at the Aston Waikiki. It was a really nice hotel, they even had free breakfast every morning, it was in a great location too...Lulu's is almost right next door and that was our favorite restaurant there. (Just be warned, parking is about $30-$40/day on Waikiki). FI's parents went to Turtle Bay a few months ago and loved it also.
