Re: Checklist Updates & Some Fun Questions

  • 1. What does everyone have left? I'm just gonna list my to-dos for May...cake selection (tasting is May 1st), booking the rehearsal dinner, hashing out the flower contract, sending back in the music list to the DJ.  And picking out David's wedding band.  That's all that I'm sure of needs to be done.

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? Eesh.  I booked a LOT of vendors already.  I don't think I can pick just one.

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? Probably buying our wedding bands.

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? I'm embellishing my shoes, doing the table numbers and the card box, and possibly dyeing a crinoline, if it will look good with the dress.

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? No idea.  I have high hopes for the tasting this weekend though!

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? AHAHAHAHHA.  He really hasn't.  Although the biggest thing he's excited for -- the cake tasting -- is Saturday, so we'll see.

  • 1. What does everyone have left?  florist and DJ are the big ones, plus ordering and assembling the invitations and making sure the BMs order their dresses. Oh! we need to book our honeymoon too.

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? I found my dress :)

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? honeymoon probably

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? I made STDs on Vistaprint and decorated the envelopes with a stamp. I plan on making the invitations, table numbers, seating cards, and card box.

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? honestly, everything has been fun so far

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? he has been really helpful and by my side with everything we've picked out except for my dress- he isn't seeing that until the church. He helped me design the STDs, put them together (licked all the envelopes haha).

  • 1. What does everyone have left? book a day of coordinator, taste/order cake (5/8), order rings, FI to pick tuxes, shoes for rehearsal, purchase and dye crinny, groomsmen gifts, flower girl gift, order paper for and print/assemble invitations, get marriage liscense, put together welcome bags and bathroom baskets. (thats most of it)

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? Purchasing my dress - I wasn't sure I'd ever find one. lol

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? I would say that most of the big stuff is done but perhaps the cake, and booking a day of coordinator will give me some much needed piece of mind!

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? I have finished my card box, and played around with doing a wedding map, I plan to do a dyed crinny, bathroom baskets, welcome bags for out of town guests, goodie bags for kids at the reception, and printing all my invites/programs/menus/escort cards etc.

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? Anything I can be creative with, I am having lots of fun making a list of things to put in the welcome bags since its too early to start collecting, the kids goodie bags as well.

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? LOL he has been a huge help by basically saying "whatever you want hunny" ha but seriously he hasn't done a whole lot yet.  We talked before starting planning about what we were going for, and I have been very mindful of his taste and preferences in the decisions I have made.  He's coming to the cake tasting on 5/8 and he will also take part in the food tasting and selection for the reception.  He will be there for the ordering of the rings and he will be selecting the tuxes.  I think that may be it for him lol

    1. What does everyone have left? most of our big vendors are finished.  I just have all my DIY stuff to get started (and completed.)

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? getting engaged? finding Mr. Right? Wink

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? Invites.  We're completely DIY'ing these.  Cutting, templates, wording... all of it.

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? big ol' list is in my bio... but invites, veil, all paper stuff really, OOT bags, table numbers, etc.

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? the paper stuff.  As much as work as it's already been (and will be), I love crafting and playing around with publisher and photoshop!

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? a lot actually.  We've finally found happy medium.  He couldn't care less about the paper stuff.  So I usually just make a few options and he decides which one he likes most.  He's been really involved with the vendors and researching stuff though.  I think I'm lucky!
  • 1. What does everyone have left? All I really have left is: picking music, getting a cake topper, finish the veil (I have all the materials), do my BMs sweatshirts, Get guys' tuxes, Design and put invitations together (I already have materials), put centerpieces together, make wedding favors, put programs together, Upload pictures for the guestbook, have my mom hem my dress, and find a rehearsal dress. I think that's it besides paying the vendors.

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? I've taken care of most everything, but probably buying FH's ring or buying invitation supplies.

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? The biggest to-do I have left is the DIY invitations.. I've been trying to put that off!!

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? I already dyed my slip, rhinestoned my shoes, bought iron on letters for sweatshirts, and I plan on making centerpieces, invitations, and programs. I also have to make a red ribbon for the lace-up back of my dress.

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? My favorite part was surprisingly not the dress shopping or shoe shopping. I was actually more excited about buying all of the materials and supplies online or taking the engagement pictures.. still waiting on results.

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? Having been planning during tax season, my fh wasn't able to help too much recently, but I do ask him his opinion on everything and he's looking forward to cake tasting in the far future and he's going to help me with the favors [chocolate covered pretzels and CDs]

  • 1. What does everyone have left? I need to finalize the dinner menu. I'm going down to TX in 2 weeks to taste cakes from another vendor the ballroom works with. And DIY projects of course.

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? Booked and payed my part for the ballroom.

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? Meeting with the priest. Urgh he's hard to get a hold of.

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? Ive done Save the Dates, finished the GMs boutonnieres. I need to finish invitations, and start on the fabric flowers.

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? So far its all been going really well. I'm having fun with all of the DIY stuff.

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? He's helped in pretty much every dept. He's come up with most of the ideas we have for the wedding and I'm mostly executing them. For ex. the boutonniere styles were all his idea, and so were the Save the Dates. I made them though.

*Edit cause I skipped two questions!
    1. What does everyone have left?
I have to pick my cake and figure out what I'm doing for flowers
    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished?
I would've said custom designed my invites, but my fiance didn't like them, so although I think they're cute, I'm going to have to come up with another option.
So I will say booking my photographer because he's really popular on the Local board (I'm out of town for that board) so I hoped he was still available.
    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left?
    Picking out my wedding dress!
    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? 5. What's been your favorite part to plan?
All of my DIY projects have gone to crap! I originally started with this "I'll do it all myself!" mentatlity and now I'll prob just make my aisle runner, design my centerpiece (if I decide to do a non-floral) and making my invitations are still up in the air.

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far?
He doesn't help plan, but boy does he love his Veto power (eye roll)!
  • 1. What does everyone have left? [If you don't feel like posting your entire list if it's long, you can always put what you have done or plan to do in the next month or so//or just say if it's in your bio and you don't feel like posting it] I dont even want to think about it or I'll get stressed

    2. What's your biggest to-do that you've accomplished? Hmm maybe all the supplies for the centerpieces are all stored away and ready to be out together

    3. What's the biggest to-do you have left? Finish saving all my $! and I guess invitations need to be finalized, but I did pick them

    4. What do you plan on DIYing and//or what do you have done? Just Centerpieces, programs, church decor, decorating bird cage (card holder), escort card tree

    5. What's been your favorite part to plan? all of it!

    6. How has//will your fh helped in the planning so far? He has been a big help, even though final decisions are really up to me for the most part, he helps me go places to see things/buy things, he also took care of the HM all by himself (with my approval)
