Thanks for the well wishes everyone! After a course of IV fluids yesterday (and some antibiotics) Nimbus spent the night at home and seemed to be doing better. The vet gave us some wet food and he ate a good amount of it, which was surprising! (The vet said he might not and to try to feed him baby food if he didn't want to eat.) He hung out with us in the living room and came to bed on his own when we turned off the lights, like he normally does. He slept next to me all night. They left the IV catheter in his leg and wrapped it up. He kept trying to shake it off, but eventually got used to it, and was able to jump and walk normally.
All his tests came back normal, except for liver function. Right now, the vet thinks he might have some kind of gallbladder or liver blockage that's causing inflammation. He'll go in today for more IV fluids and we'll start a course of antibiotics. If this works, awesome. If it doesn't work, we'll do an ultrasound to see if there's a tumor.
So we're not 100% positive he's going to be okay, yet, but it's looking a little better than yesterday.
