Bouquet Alternatives / And Other Floral Expenses

I am trying to figure out my floral budget, and I am debating whether to do bouquets for my bridesmaids or do something else that is still pretty and fun. I know that bouquets can get expensive. I want to add Old Hollywood accents into our wedding without doing a full-on theme, including attire. Any suggestions on bouquet alternatives?
I also originally wanted to have some rose petals on the aisle (I don't think we are having a flower girl), but debating whether it is worth it for the cost. It is one of those things I would "like" but isn't a "must have". A lot of the floral ceremony decorations seem crazy for the price, considering the ceremony is so short. Any floral tips or advice based on your experience is appreciated.

I don't have experience yet but do think its crazy to pay so much for flowers. I think they do need something to hold though so was thinking about maybe do a bouquet out of feathers and crystals. I don't know- just an idea...

I'm debating between paper flowers, fabric flowers, pinwheels or brooch

But so far the front runners are (recycled) paper flowers

I've been having similar thoughts about not wanting to spend a lot on flowers for the wedding party. Parasols or pinwheels would be cute for a laid back, outdoor wedding, but old hollywood is trickier. What about a clutch purse or a fan of some sort (silk or feathers maybe)?

Oooh I love the idea of pinwheels, that's adorable. For old hollywood I like the idea of feathers, you could do something pretty with that & it wouldn't be nearly as expensive as flowers.

I did a brooch bouquet for myself, however that was more expensive then any flower bouquet. I love the idea of fans - if it is a summer wedding? I am sure you could find some really beautiful ones, potentially even from a secondhand shop. Mmhhh...I think I'll have to email my bridesmaids right now and ask if they like it!

I have seen wedding pics with fans and parasols, and think it's a really cute idea. However, I'm aiming to have our wedding around winter time. I may look into clutches and maybe also do a wrist corsage. Still thinking though... All of your feedback is very helpful. Thanks!

I made fake ones, well my mom did. We got awesome "real" looking roses from Hobby Lobby and added gems and wrapped it in black ribbon. They turned out awesome. The flowers feel like real flowers too, not the silk ones from back in the day.
