What 3 things do you love

Re: What 3 things do you love

  • 1. The open mindedness in a sea of close mindedness from the rest of the state. You can be a freak here and no one cares. We're also one of the only wet counties in the state, so that's a plus.

    2. The horse farms. Growing up in Indiana I only saw corn fields. The horse farms on sloping hills with picket fences in the region are beautiful. They never get old.

    3. The culture and history. There's so much history here, from bourbon to historic plantations that still exist. It's nice living in a city that is more than 100 years old.

I know this sounds crazy, but Kentucky /> Indiana.

    1. I love that at 2 in the morning there are tons of deli's and bagel stores open. Nothing like Brooklyn bagels after drinking all night.
    2. I live a few blocks from the water so when it gets humid i can smell the ocean :)
    3. The restaurants are awesome
Image and video hosting by TinyPic There's no room for you mommy! Shorry!
  • If I went to a different bar or restaurant every night, it would take me YEARS to repeat.

Chicago's huge, but it sometimes has a smaller feel because it's full of friendly midwesterners

There is always some festival or street concert or tasting going on. There's almost TOO much to do!
  • I live on the beach

    good food

    um. I can't think of a third.
  • 1. Almost all of my family and FH's family is here.

    2. We get really amazing opportunities to show off our city- the Principal Charity Classic (golf), the HyVee Triatholon (I can't remember how many out of staters and out-of-country people came last year but it was amazing), etc.

    3. Small town feel, and surrounded by mostly small towns but Des Moines is decent.

  • Because it's the greatest city in the world!

also, I can look out at the boats just beyond the park below my patio.  Great food is everywhere and it's one of the safest  cities in the U.S.
  • 1. Mall of America
    2. the Minnesota State Fair- google it if you are curious, its life changing :-)
    3. All of the lakes!

  • I friggin LOVE where I live.  I could go for hours and hours about it.

    1.   My city has a huge level of importance placed on health and physical activity.  We are not a city that sits around watching tv all day.  Not only is it important, but there are tons of outlets for it.   Whatever your sport interest, you can do it.   My friends and I climb this for fun once a week:

    2.  We have a large locally-owned resturaunt movement here.  There ARE Chilis and Outbacks here, but why on earth would you eat at one when there are hundreds of non-chain, quirky places you can eat at instead that are ten times better?

    3.  No one smokes here.  No one.

"Whatever East. You're just mad I RSVP'd "lame" to your pre-wedding sleepover."
  • 1. Proximity to New York City

    2. Proximity to the ocean

    3. Hmmm. The only other thing New Jersey has going for it at the moment, in my eyes, is that a handful of people I love live here!

    1. the skyline on a clear day
    2. the skyline on a clear night
    3. Millenium Park
    4. the restaurants
    5. the museums
    6. the pro sports
    7. the neighborhoods
    8. diversity

  • 1.) We are 1.5 miles from the beaches
2.) The ocean breeze we get makes us always 10-15 degrees cooler than Boston and less humid
3.) the peaceful feeling/gorgeous view FI and I get every night when we drive over the bridge on the way home from work
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • the Bay
    the Gulf
    the lack of winter

  • 1. I feel like I am making a difference volunteering and my house is full of wagging tails and cold noses
    2.  The FI and I put roots down - we bought a house!
    3.  The FI has gotten involved with Civil Air Patrol and I love seeing him passionate about something

sorry guys kinda tough - this city is still growing on me...

  • 1. The Arch. It's really just an amazing memorial, I can never get enough of it!

    2. Forrest Park. Between the Zoo, the Butterfly House, the Science Center and the Muny, there's so much to do, and new attractions all the time!

    3. The layout of the city. It's spread out, driving is actually enjoyable, and there's lots of nature aspects that are incorporated into all parts of the design.
  • 1. All the water (if only it were warm :) )
    2. All the green trees (I miss them when I go to places like AZ)
    3. The Seattle skyline - I smile every time I see it.
  • 1. Football season.  I live in a college town, so during football season, everything revolves around our team.

    2. The gorgeous architecture.  The campus is absolutely breathtaking as well as a lot of other buildings in town.  We have some wonderful old plantation houses are here.

    3. Living so close to Orlando.  We can go down for the weekend and go to Disney whenever we want.
  • 1. There are like 20 places to go for awesome beer.
    2. Most people I know are afraid to go to the city.
    3. The Tigers and Red Wings. Not the Lions.
    This knottie's been ransacked, suckas!
  • 1. It's nicely slow paced and quiet... compared to the big city I came from (Miami)

    2. People here are extremely friendly, nice, polite and courteous... I love that!

    3. It has most of the comforts of a big town (it's slowly growing) but it's still small enough to be nice and relaxed. Oh.. and the beach is 5 miles away. :-)

  • 1) We get the perks of the small city but are only an hour from DC
    2) I can run all of my errands in an hour, and it only takes me 1 minute to drive 1 mile.
    3) I am completely surrounded by nature. There are bunnies in my yard, tons of birds, and deer on the walking trail by my house. If I drive 5 miles out I've seen bald eagles, hawks, deer, all kinds of things. Yesterday on one hike I saw a doe with twin fawns, 3 rabbits, 2 frogs and a gillion birds.
  • 1. How beautiful it is on a sunny day. You can't beat the summer in Seattle (when it's not raining!)
    2. How smart/geeky everyone is. Microsoft, Nintendo, and WOTC all in the same area? Yes please!
    3. It's a city, but it's not too big. It's easy to find your way around, and everyone's pretty casual and low-key, but it still has a city feel.

  • 1., 2., and 3...living across the river from the city that never sleeps, I have everyhting I could want, whenever I want it.  And when I dont want it...cool cities like, Boston, Philly, DC, + upstate NY are a hop, skip + a jump.  But even though I may not make the best of it, I take comfort in knowing everything that the city has to offer is right there when I want it :)

    1. The weather! It's a bit hot right now [100's], but most of the year it is absolutley beatiful here. 300+ days of sunshine a year! Can't beat it. And during the summer when it's super hot, we have monsoon season - so we get to see awesome storms which are fun.

    2. Wide open blue skies. I am from Ohio... and never got to see the sky [due to hills and trees], but I didn't realize it at the time. Out here, on most days, you can see the WHOLE sky! if you havent' seen it, you don't know. But it is really neat.

    3. The mountains and hiking. there are so many hikes around here and Tucson is completely surrounded by mountains = beautiful. And the weather is nice enough on most days that you can enjoy the great outdoors!
  • 1.  We have four seasons.  Fall is my favorite and the trees are absolutely beautiful.  I like the snow too.  I always get super excited for the first snow.

    2.  There are a lot of privately owned restaurants with awesome food!  No need to go to a chain.

    3.  There is not a lot to do right here, but we have a casino a half hour away, a water park an hour away, outlet malls about an hour and a half...
