Out of state pastor - policies

If we're bringing our pastor from home to marry us, is there anything special we need to do? Is there anything he has to do in the state of NC to be licensed?

Re: Out of state pastor - policies

  • From Currituck County gov't site: "Q. Who can perform a marriage ceremony?
    A. Any ordained minister with a church can perform a marriage ceremony. The officiant does not need a special license to perform a ceremony in North Carolina. Magistrates can also perform marriage ceremonies. You can reach a Currituck County magistrate by calling 252-232-3404."

My brother (from out of state) was ordained online and he'll be performing our ceremony, so there shouldn't be any issues with your pastor.
