Info for homemade candy wrappers

I'm trying to cut down cost for wedding favors. I was thinking of buying bags of candy and rewrapping them with my own personalized candy wrappers. Do anyone have information on where to buy them? Would it look crazy if I bought glossy paper and just wrapped the candy with that?

Re: Info for homemade candy wrappers

  • I think it would depend on the type of candy that you used of how put together it would look.  But I think it's a great idea.  I know that they have label makers for chocolate bars.  What type of candy are you wanting to use?

DItto. I guess with chocolate or something like that it'd be okay but I was originally imagining hard candies and got grossed out by people touching candy and then re-wrapping. If that is what you have in mind, please wear gloves.

  • To clarify- do you mean actually re-wrapping individual candies, or repackaging into personalized bags/boxes for guests to take home?

  • Miniature candy bars.

Why would someone rewrap hard candies?

I would be replacing the branding label ( I.e Hersey Milk Chocolate Candy Bar) with a personalized wrapper, maybe our initals and wedding date.

  • So this is one that I found.  But I think Office Max may sell the labels and instructions but if not, here's someone that does!  So it can be a great cost saver.  I'd love to see the finished result!
