Help- Alterations

Hi Ladies,
Could anyone recommend a great person for alterations that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.. I got a quote form one of the alteration places and it's 600 dollars. I would really like to stay below that amount..
Any info is appreciated.

    I went to Silhouettes and Profiles and they were fantastic. http://www.besttailorsny.com/

    I wore my mother's wedding dress, but first I needed it taken in a bit and I needed the sleeves removed to modernize the dress a little. Silhouettes and Profiles did great, the dress fit just right and their tailoring looked completely natural to the garment. They're totally trustworthy and reasonably priced, much less expensive any any of "wedding-dress" tailors I looked into. I can't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was definitely under $200.

    Basically they're a very good balance of paying a reasonable price but still being assured you'll have a well-altered garment at the end of the process.

    I am using a tailor in Chinatown who came very highly recommended by another bride. She was very reasonably priced. I have my first fitting in a couple of weeks. Here is her website:
