amount for cash wedding gift these days?

Hi ladies. i haven't been on this board in ages. What would be an appropriate cash gift for a relatively high end reception? Back in 2006, I got around $200 per couple on average. Does that still sound appropriate?

    For cash gifts, our average was $250-$300 per couple.

    For our June wedding we received gifts of $50-200 per couples our age (late 20s) and gifts of $100-$500 for our parents friends and older family members. I think it always depends on your capacity for giving at the time and your relationship with the couple.
