Blue

Is it a "no-no" for a wedding color in Chinese culture? I can't remember where I heard this...something about wearing blue. My parents didn't seem to mind an aqua blue-ish color, but I'd like to be prepared should any relatives take up issue with it. Thanks, as always! :)

The Chinese believe it's a mourning color.  However, I see blue all the time at weddings. You should ask your parents if they think anyone would have an issue with it.  Even if they do or do not, if you're parents are fine with it, then just go for it.

I had to remove blue from our wedding invitations because my MIL called it "dead person blue." But blue in the decor and the rest of the wedding was fine.

Thanks ladies -- would you consider a light blue or Tiffany Blue a "dead person" blue? My mom said something about navy blue...

I went through that for my wedding. Dark navy blue was a no-no but the lighter blues were okay. I ended up going with periwinkle.
