Apple Mint and mistletoe?

I saw a picture in InStyle weddings of an Applemint boutonniere. Does anyone know if this will actually hold up? My florist and a girl on the DIY board says that it won't, but she suggested I ask my DIY flower questions here instead. What about a mistletoe Bout.. anyone know if this would work? couldn't I just wire the foliage?Any suggestions?

Mistletoe would hold up the best. Buy a cheap mint plant at Walmarts or somewhere in their herb section. Cut a piece off and put in water for 8 hours or so. Then take it out of the water and see how long it will hold up. You can also put a piece in the frig and see if that helps (after soaking water). Designers use garden greens sometimes for effect but we always try them out first. But I think the mint would need to be made right before and don't think that it will hold up through out the evening. Hydrangea won't hold up either, at least in Florida.
