We had gone to Chicago to visit a bunch of the museums, and on our second day there, we went to MSI and the Field Museum. Then we took a water taxi to Navy Pier, had dinner, and sat down to watch the fireworks. At the finale, he nudged me, and at first I was irritated because I was trying to watch the finale. Then he put the ring in front of me and whispered in my ear, "will you marry me?" I was so surprised that I started shaking and could barely get out my yes. The mile and a half walk back to the car didn't seem so long after that awesome proposal!
