Venue help needed near Asheville! PLEASE HELP!

Hello everyone!
I REALLY need help finding a venue near Asheville. I am located in Raleigh and we want to do a SMALL scale destination wedding with about 50 of our closest friends and family. We are considering Asheville because we want to choose a location where guests will be able to find some sort of entertainment that weekend. I know of the popular places such as The Crest, Biltmore, Grove Park Inn, etc but are there any other places that you can suggest because these do not seem to be in my budget. My TOTAL  budget for FOOD and VENUE  is 6000. This doesn't include my dress, photographer, etc but I dont want to spend over 6000 for  food and venue (and would love to spend less if possible). I am more of a city girl (grew up in NY) so I would prefer to stay away from the very rustic places or barns - just not my taste. Thanks for your help!!Smile Oh and by the way we are open to dates between August and November of 2012 but are not tied to a specific date yet.

I'm not sure about pricing, but some places to check into are:

    http://celineandcompany.com/

And, it's refreshing to see someone who hasn't set their date in stone before finding a venue.  Good for you :)

Im of no help since I don't have much info in regards to Asheville, but I wanted to say welcome to the boards and I hope you have fun planning!

I agree with Mary (Pirate), it's very refreshing to see someone looking for a venue prior to picking a date. Once you pick a date, it makes picking the venue much harder as you're more restricted.

    Good luck! :)

I live in Hendersonville (20 minutes south of Asheville) and have seen some smaller weddings held at some of the Bed and Breakfast locations around here... I'm not sure of the names specifically, but it could be worth exploring.  You'd get some country charm without it being really rustic.

No clue how much it costs, but The Venue in downtown Asheville is a great space. Kind of Art Deco. I attended a luncheon there and the goof and service both were very good. If I lived in Asheville, it would have been on my list for consideration. Good luck.

The Venue and Homewood are also worth looking at.

For something super cheap but really pretty: Cheshire Village.
