vendor report card

So, my day was unbelievably beautiful and it's vendors who help make it happen!!Cake and CateringSweet Blessings Bakery and CafeA+Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was extremely helpful with everything! The food was so amazing, that people were asking for more info on this place!!Venue Ceremony and ReceptionPeralta Memorial UMCB-Although Pastor Dave was great and fun to work with, the events coordinator and the custodian were not so much. Unless you go there on regular basis for service, they could care less about you. They were very rude, but mind you, this was only the events coordinator and custodian.Day of CoordinatorSondra BirchA+She was so wonderful to work with! She helped the day go off without a hitch!! I would recommend her and her price is great! She help my mother sit down and relax! Also, people will want to "harrass" you while you eat, but Sondra stayed near us and told people we would mingle later. It was nice to have our first meal as husband and wife bither free. She took care of everything!DJAbsolute BeatsD-They are based out of Valencia County and would've been a pleasure. When we booked our DJ, he said that nobody else has booked the same day. Later on, he tells us that this guy named James would be subbing for him for the better part of the reception because now, his other booking wanted to go on another couple of hours, which made it go into our time slot. WTF? I even asked him why he didn't tell them no, that he already has someone who has paid for that time. His answer, "because it's a business, but I assure you James is an excellent DJ. He does the bigger celebrations"Then, we meet this James guy, my MOh and I, and my MOH wanted me to be stress free so she told him to direct questions or concerns to her. (aww! i heart her!) Yeah, well, he was still trying to talk to me the day of, while I was trying to get ready and do pictures! Then, he played our first dance song right after our entrance, which we had wrote on our paper to do it after dinner. Well, we danced anyway. I mean, what can you do? And to put the icing on the cake, he didn't even play the right garter/bouquet toss songs! (DOC chewed him out) He told DOC that he was sorry, but never once came up to us and apologized.FloristEnchanted Floral DesignsA+Not only are Tina's prices right, but she was so great to us! (Her daughter is Sondra- DOC, BTW). She works out of her own home. And because I let her stay for the dinner, she did our flowers on our cake for free. Bless her heart!Dress/AlterationsAlfred Angelo-UptownAMy assistant, Diana, was very kind and helpful! I found the dress of my dreams! But some of the staff need to get it together. A few didn't seem to know what was supposed to be happening. Putting that aside, they have a no exhange, refund, return policy, but when they gave me the wrong tiara, Diana was happy to get that corrected! (Long story on why I got the wrong tiara)On another note, their alterations specialist was very kind and creative, but their prices stink! Go somewhere else for alterations.PhotographyEast Brook StudiosA+Sarah was so creative! I plan on using her for other sessions, non wedding related! She's just that good. She's spunky and eccentric, but in a good way. She wasn't annoying during the reception, and asked us, during, if we wanted some other pictures because the lighting and whatnot. She's totally awesome and I highly recommend her! Plus, our E pix came out very beautiful! They're breath taking!HairHair InnovationsA+Selena did my hair. She did it so beautiful, that I was complemented and I think she's going to have some new customers! They're located in Belen, and it's actually owned by the mayor of Belen, Ronnie Torres. Everyone in there was so patient and kind.RingsSears/Expressions in GoldA+Sears gave us a great deal on my husbands (feels great to say!) band. When we couldn't find one to match my E-ring, which belonged to DHs late mother, the associate sent us to their store, E in G. There, we got a band customized to my ring. Their service was fast, too! They had my E-ring for a few days, and by band was ready in about a week. Their prices are well met, too, and they are willing to work with you. EX: they will do trade in's to cut the price, or move stones out and into whatever ring or jewlery you want.TuxedoTux n TailsA+The staff is very helpful and because I called on the last day they were having a great rental deal, they went ahead and gave us the deal anyway! Not many places will do that. I am so glad we went with them and not Men's Warehouse. MW overcharges and some staff should get some customer service skills.

YAY!!! I'm so happy for you. It sounds like it's was the perfect day, aside for the DJ. Thank you for the reports. It's so nice to hear experiences and helps with making decisions.

Congrats!  I do have to say I had a similar experience with Alfred Angelo.  I went in on Friday for my second fitting and the alteration specialist wasn't even there she had gone home because she didn't have anymore appointments that day (I had scheduled an appointment and was there 10 min. early).  Luckily she had left my dress.  Dress fit ok luckily but still I would have liked her there because she didn't take in one side enough.  But the sales person who was helping me along with another girl said it looked good and if it got taken in anymore it might be too tight.
