Bachelorette Party Activities?

Hey There Boston Brides! I'm a bridesmaid and I am stumped when it comes to bachelorette party activities. What can we do in Boston for about 12 girls in mid-september? Something that's about an hour or two... on a Saturday night. Jacques is booked, we've already done the pottery thing, and the Improv was also another recent bridal party activity. Any ideas?? TIA!!

Gypsy Rose Pole dancing! I've heard that it's super fun... If my b-party is in Boston, then I'll request that my girls set up a lesson there...

A few options…South EndBeehive makes for a fun night and something different.  There are so many great restaurants in the area to start off your night.  Maybe head to Myers & Chang?  Their event staff is great.   You could even call ahead and set up a family style menu.  This gives everyone a chance to try different things and a better sense of the cost.  If you wanted dessert, the restaurant can arrange for a cake from Chang’s bakery Flour.Once you’ve finished up dinner, it’s a pretty quick walk to Beehive.  Just call ahead and ask to be added to the guest list as lines tend to form fairly early.  28 Degrees has fun drinks and is just around the corner from there if they aren’t taking advance reservations for whatever reason.  The music at 28 Degrees might be more accessible too.http://www.myersandchang.com/http://www.beehiveboston.com/http://www.28degrees-boston.com/flash.htmlThe Heaven & Hell Party Depending on your date, The Heaven & Hell Party is set for September 19th.  Hosted by the entertainment group Boston Bar Golf, it is a themed party cruise originating from the World Trade Center – Lower Level.  It docks around 11pm which would allow plenty of time to get over to another neighborhood if you had particular bars in mind.  A good size crowd from the boat goes out right after the cruise at the bars along the water front.  Tickets would need to be bought in advance.  www.bostonbargolf.com/Handbag Party A few years ago, I hosted my friend’s bachelorette and we started with a pre-party at Anna William.  They have since been bought out, and close up shop.  1154 Lill on Newbury Street offers the same sort of event.  Private handbag parties are held after hours when the store is closed to the public.  You can bring in light appetizers and wine/beer.  Then each of the girls can design a bag, choosing from different styles and fabrics.http://1154lill.com/handbagparties/instoreparties.aspTravelBoth Portland, Maine and Mohegan Sun are great options close by.  For Portland, I’d recommend staying at The Hilton Garden Inn which is right in the middle of the Old Port.  At Mohegan, The Best Western Cristata Inn is just off property which brings considerable savings.  The hotel offers complimentary limo service to the casino which is a great perk.  Discount codes for both are available on http://www.retailmenot.com/. These offers tend to bring in rates much lower than the AAA discount.  Between the two, the casino is probably more of an event.  Free car service makes things easy. You can get dressed up, which I always like.  Have dinner, take a look around, and then go to the bars at night.  Keep the number for the casino in your phone and try for call-ahead seating at any of the restaurants.  They will take your cell phone number and an automated service will call to let you know the table is ready.  You have the option to delay for a bit which is nice if you’re on the floor.  The Racebook (off track betting) is a good stop and can be a lot of fun.  You can drink for free with out having to pay into table games.  If you tip well, the servers take great care of you.  Just be sure to get to the bars early enough as not to have to wait in line.http://www.hiltongardeninn.com/en/gi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=PWMDHGIhttp://www.mohegansun.com/gateway/index.htmlHope this helps. -JC

If the bride likes comedy, the Improv Asylum in the North End is a great time! Thanks for the tip about Jacques.  I'm planning my sister's bach on Sat. night and didn't know they booked up so fast.  Oh well....hopefully no one minds the standing room only :/

Jacques does two shows a night.  Maybe just the 10pm is sold out as it tends to be more popular?  Might be worth call.

we did karaoke at Limelight Studios in the theatre district.  (one of the few places that does it on a sat night). It was awesome.  We also went to the Liquor Store.  Nick's Comedy Stop is also in that area.Just a heads up: The people that sing at Limelight for the most part are actually good.  It was like American Idol tryouts.  If you go there, unless you are all Kelly Clarksons, be prepared to feel a little embarassed, or drunk enough not to care.
