HELP!!!!Ideas for flowerless centerpieces

Hello! PLEASE HELP Wedding in december!!Due to the amount of money we are spending on everything we are trying to think of centerpieces that dont have flowers. Our colors are light blue and silver.Any Ideas or PHOTOS of centerpieces without flowers?preferably not ones that are too short.... 9 inches high or higher so that they dont 'get lost' in all the stuff on the table.

We're thinking of lanterns, colored votive holders, and small vases filled with rocks. You can also use table runners or square cloths in the middle of the table for a nice pop of color. For safety's sake, please take your last names out of your signature line.

Tall narrow vases filled with water. Add blue food coloring to make the water extra blue and put a silver floating candle in each.

http://www.celebritystyleweddings.co.uk/shop/prodimages/ostrichfeathercenterpiece.jpg ^ that's what I'll most likely be using http://sweetandsourbride.blogspot.com/2007/12/floral-budget.html ^has cute suggestions another thing we considered doing was making our table numbers the centerpieces. you can get either foam and cut into numbers or wood cutouts of numbers and decorate those however you would like. if you took that route the options really are endless.

Ask your venue what options they have for free -- most have some -- and go from there. One idea for cheap flowers that looks really classy actually: a big ball (pomander) of monochromatic carnations. Carnations are cheap and come in blue and white.

A wedding I went to last year used floating candles, but you have to watch them. The flames from the candle burnt the ribbon around the top of the glass. I am using mirrors and lamps (on loan from reception venue) and adding faux fall leaves.

I know this is a controversial subject too, but we're using our cakes a centerpieces. We are using white table cloths, royal blue runners with cakes on silver chargers. The cake servers are silver with white ribbons around them. The cakes are white with black and royal blue ribbon trim.If the tables need anything extra we'll use the usual sprinkling of white rose petals.
