Color Question

Hi everyone....I've been mulling this over since I first got engaged... Aqua/Turquoise is a color that FI and I want for our wedding....but we've been trying to come up with another color (s) to accent it. One color that we both agree on is Orange...but everyone who knows me, knows I'm a big die-hard Miami Dolphins fan. I read a few months back that it is tacky to do a wedding in team colors. So I don't want to use the orange, because of what I read- but when we looked at this color palette on the Perfect Palette Blog- it was a favorite for both of us. here's the link in case you want to see for yourself -- http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c31/chrissymarie98/tealorange.jpg?t=1233936102http:// Because you ladies are awesome & honest- I would love to get your opinions/views on this matter. Plus, if you have any suggestions for colors to go with aqua/turquoise- I'm open to them! (Btw- For what it's worth- FI is not a Miami fan either lol)

LOL, before I got to the part about being a Dolphins fan, I said to myself, Orange goes well with Aqua!If that is the color scheme you want to use, I would say go with it.  It's not an akward scheme, so I would not worry about it too much.  If you are really worried about the whole football thing, what about doing accents in other bright colors, like Lime, Yellow, Fuschia?  If you did that, you could do Limes and Lemons with Gerbera Daisies for your centerpieces, and that would look so fun and very different from what I have seen other people do!If you really want to do another color instead, I would suggest a deep purple- I think they go very well together, and the deepness of the one plays of the brightness of the other.  You could also pull this off with Royal/Cobalt Blue, or a Brown Chocolate color. If you don't go with purple, I would suggest going with another darker color or another Bright color.  I would not suggest doing anything with pastels or anything light.  That's just me, though.I think you should do what you want, but if you want things to look good in pictures and such, either go with your gut instinct or do the darker colors.  If you do something too light or similar to the aqua (even white), the colors will wash out against each other in pictures.Good luck, and let us know what you decide!  Either way, it's going to look great- you have great instinct taste!

Wow! Thanks- you really gave me some really interesting colors / color combinations to consider- I never thought about the deep purple! My gown is a deep ivory (technically it's called "gold" by Alfred Angelo- but a deep/rich ivory sounds more accurate!) I think the deep purple with the turquoise might go really nicely with my gown! Thanks for giving me another palette to consider!!!! :)

Kasey - It's all up to you and FI ... after all, it's YOUR wedding :) If you do decide on another accent color, I could see chocolate brown or apple red (which is a trendy color palette) going together very nicely with the aqua. Maybe look for inspiration boards on stylemepretty: http://tiny.cc/HmkOXHTH!

I like Lura's suggestion of fuschia. I also like cream or ivory with aqua/turquoise, and I found this:http://www.weddingtimes.com/color-inspiration-aqua-red/
