i must be the only one that was not to crazy about cakes by ginas flavors.. i thought they were just ok. who made the cake and susies cakes tastes so much better! But, they are a lot more expensive, so for ginas prices you cant go beat that.

haydee: Tim Garcia (Timtations) is a pastry chef that works out of his home. He makes some great stuff. When you set an appointment with him he will bring cakes for you to taste. I love him cause he is a great guy and has delicious stuff. My cater recommended him to me.

I think Cakes by Gina's cakes looked amazing but I didn't think they tasted amazing. I'm using Edible Designs by Jessie. Best flavor/look IMO.

I'm one of those people that doesn't like Cakes by Gina, so PP, you are not alone.We used Celebrations and Sweet Creations in Magnolia. Delicious and very beautiful/creative.

Celebrations and Sweet Creations. We used them for the groom's cake and my cousin is still asking me if I have any left over cake hahaha.

I'm with you girls. I was not all that impressed by Cakes by Gina.We decided to go with Bavarian Cakery. It's amazing!!

I sampled Cakes by Gina then Jessie's after trying Jessie's I knew it tasted so much better than Gina, so we went with them. I also got to sample Who made the Cake at Louise Blum one Saturday. If you go to the Bridal Soiree at the Houstonian, there are tons of cake makers who are giving out free samples. That's a good way to test.

We had tastings with Cakes By Gina and Celebrations & Sweet Creations. I would rate them good enough. A girl in my office told me about Timtations. Chef Tim shares a kitchen with her brother who has a catering company and she said he did amazing work and the taste was great. (i've seen on this board that he works from home but I don't think that's true because he has a kitchen space, just not a storefront bakery). His cakes were delicious and he was so nice to work with so we went with him. I don't know anything about cake design and he made it very easy.

I'm using Timtations, and I'm REALLY excited! I tasted several different flavors and they were all delicious! He is really a nice guy and very good about trying to give you what YOU want and not just whatever he wants to do.
