So...we got engaged on August 7th, 2009, but I saw this board and couldn't resist.My fiance (bf at the time) was in India for 24 days this past summer to visit his sister who lives there and go hiking in the Himalayas (we are big outdoor people). I missed him like crazy the entire time, and he did call and email a few times, but it wasn't the same as when he is home! He came home the first week in August, and we just spent a few days hanging out and talking about what we did during our time apart. On August 7th, we went to RI to go to the beach for the day, just the two of us, and we were planning a picture showing for our families and friends of his time in India for that night. During the slideshow, he played a video of himself on the top of an 18,000 foot pass in the Himalayan mountains at sunrise that he recorded during his trek - it was a message to me, saying he loved me and missed me and wished I was there (still no clue), at the end, his sister zoomed out the camera and he was on one knee and said, "Will you marry me?" and I just about died...I was silent for 30 seconds before, "Are you serious?!" and then I stared crying and barely got out a yes....I can't wait for our marriage to start!
