Charleston Area Wedding?

Hi!I am currently trying to decide between getting married where I grew up in Florida and where I live now, Charleston. We are probably going to have about 200 (or a few more) guests. I would LOVE any suggestions on sites in the Charleston area (preferably downtown, mount p, or sullivans areas) that could accomodate us!Thanks!

There are a ton of choices in Charleston--it's kind of a destination wedding mecca, so it does drive up prices a little, FYI.  There is a Charleston Board on TK, so you might check out old posts for ideas, and also charlestonweddingguide.comFWIW, I am getting married at The Wickliffe House in downtown and am very happy with it so far.  Good luck!

I am getting married at the Creek Club in I'On in Mount Pleasant and we are having 200 people as well. There is definitely enough room for everyone. It is a big room with a huge porch that has flaps that can be drawn in case it is cold or rainy or windy. I think that it is great and reasonably priced. It is right on the river and has a very cool gazebo over the water.

You could have the ceremony and reception at Alhambra Hall in Mt Pleasant. A lovely view over the water and you are free to choose any caterer. It is $1500 for Mt P residents, I believe $2500 if you are not. The rental info is online. I have been to a wedding there and it was lovely. janice

I grew up in FL too, but we got married in Charleston (where we live now). We chose the Planter's Inn Downtown. It was perfect. I have pics and vendor reviews in my bio (link in sig). HTH!

Hmm, I have so many favorites like the Francis Marion Hotel, the Mills House, the Wickliffe House, the William Aiken House, the Riviera Theater. You should check out: http://charlestonwedding.com/#/galleries/They have a pretty big list with images from lots of locations around Charleston. It's a great place to get some ideas too.
