I see a few new faces (awesome!) and I fear that we may have lost some '09 brides :(, but lets do an introduction post so we can know who's still around. I'm Jaime & my husband is Pat.  We had a fabulous fall wedding in September 2008 and I just love wedding planning.  I'm an accountant in Portland and Pat's a paramedic/fire fighter although these days he's working almost exclusively at SMCC teaching an EMT basic class and running the new simulation lab there.  We don't have any kids (yet) but we have one SPOILED fur baby, Stryker. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!!  I look forward to getting to know you all!  Lets get the Maine board more active! :)

    This board is slow...  :(I'm Mel, my HUSBAND (!) is Glenn.  We just got married on Oct 11th, 2009 in Maine.I'm a legal assistant for the County Attorney (District Attorney in every other state), and moonlight as a shift supervisor for an educational testing company on and off throughout the year.  Glenn is a high school math teacher.  We live in Dover, NH now, but are both from Maine originally - I'm from Westbrook and he's from York Beach.We're waiting until after our real honeymoon in April `10 to try for babies, but have 2 cats that we adore in the meantime.

    I'm Jaime and my husband is Steven.  We were married July 09. I am a kindergarten teacher/high school ski team coach, and hubby is a self employed web developer.We also don't have any children except the four legged kind.  We have Mya 11 yr old lab mix, Quinn 1 yr old Australian Working Kelpie, Moxie Maine Coon wanna be. and Gabby the basement cat that is lookign for a cat free home.

    I'm still around!  I'm Allie and my husband is Walker.  We also had a fabulous fall wedding on Oct 10th, 2009.  We currently hail from Yarmouth.I'm a paralegal in Brunswick and he's a copy editor at Portland Magazine.  We also only have furbabies at this point.  We're really not ready for kids.  We have two naughty cats, Jericho and Branwen.

    I'm still here! I will admit though that I don't check this board as much because it does get kind of slow. I'm Kelly and my FI is Matt. We currently live in Bangor because we're both finishing up grad school. We are getting married on June 5, 2010 in Wells. We are both originally from southern Maine. I'm from Standish and he's from Berwick. I'm so excited to get married!!

    I'm Autumn and my fiance is Scott, aka JamieBeth's lil cousin tee hee. Our wedding is set for August 28th, 2010 yay. I am a Medical Receptionist in South Portland and Scott works for Unum. We just bought our first home in Biddeford, ME yay! We have two insane cats, Titus and Tango. My babies! =)

    I am Maria, my fiance is Butch. Our wedding is July 16th, 2010...260 days away! Both Butch and I are paramedics for a few different services in the area. I grew up in Scarbrough and Butch grew up in Sumner. We will be getting married in portland. We have two kiddos, one four years old and the other five.

    I'm Jen and my husband is Matt.  We were married on June 19, 2009.  I'm a policy analyst working on retirement security and Matt's an architect.  We live in Arlington, VA which we love but we also realize that half our hearts are in Maine.  :-)

    I'm Kristen. I grew up in south portland, but currently living in Biddeford with my fiance because...well..rents cheap. I am a social worker working with families and also a grad student, and FI is a teacher. I am getting married in June in Wells. I just ordered my dress today from Andreas! I am very excited and can't wait for it to come in. It too me half a dozen stores, many many dresses and 6 months to pick one.I love rock climbing and crazy adventures:)

    I'm Tori and my FI is Eric. We're both from Westbrook (but didn't know the other exisited since he was two years ahead of me). We live in Portland right now & had two furbabies but unfortuantely we had to put down our 20 lbs Maine Coon, Jack, on Monday night after he got kidney failure as a result of crystals blocking his bladder :( So now we have a very spoiled little girl at home named Buffy. I work at a publishing company in South Portland I graduated with a BSW from USM. He works at a local television station in Westbrook and went to NESCom in the Bangor area. Our wedding is 10-2-10 at Keeley's. I can FINALLY stop saying "next October" in a couple of days :) It's going to be a fall-themed wedding. I'm a little bit ahead of the game from what I understand but I know there's still a lot to do!

    Tori-your siggy pic totally made me want a pumpkin whoopie pie.  I've been so bad since the wedding, with no more motivation to fit into that dress.  Bad!

    I'm Liza, my husband is Sean. We got married 9/12/09 in Belgrade Lakes, ME. We live in Portland with our 2 dogs. I work for AAA and hubby works for Key Bank. No kids yet, hopefully in the next 2-4 years.

    HI everyone, I'm Gabrielle and my fiance is Ron. We live in Portland with our (insanely spoiled) cat Tammany. I'm a corporate paralegal for a telecom company, and he's a professor.     Hey everyone! Glad to see people posting! It has been a little slow lately...I'm Mindy, FI is Will. We're getting married June 12 at Shawnee Peak in Bridgton. I can't wait! Right now I'm trying to make decisions on centerpieces/flowers and finish making our save-the-dates. Whenever I get something done, there's always another thing waiting to be tackled...I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, Tori :(:(

    My name is Val and my fiance is Spencer, we are currently living in Ellsworth but I am from Pennsylvania and he is from Ashland, ME (way up north:).  I work at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor and Spencer is a grad student at UMO.  We are getting married August 6, 2010 at the Morgan Hill Event Center in Hermon.  We don't have any pets at the moment, but we would like to get a dog and a cat soon.Also, thanks so much for the responses to my post about rehearsal dinners!  It's nice to have other people around that are from the same area!

    im kate, and i am a lead teacher in a head start program. my fiance is evan, and hes a carpenter. i am orginally from massachusetts, but currently evan and i live in stonington, where he grew up. right now we have a lot going on! we are planning our july 10, 2010 wedding in bar harbor annnnnd building our home.. ourselves! it will be completed by october 16, 2010 at the latest! evan and i have a cat, colby, who is completely spoiled! i look forward to this board picking up! enjoy your night ladies :)

    I'm Kristin and my fiance is Jon.  We are getting married on July 10, 2010 in my hometown of Bath at St. Mary's with a tented reception on the grounds of the Maine Maritime Museum.  We recently moved to Boston from New York City and are both attorneys - we actually met the first day of orientation in law school.  We live with our very spoiled shih tzu Baxter.

    I am rather late...but here I am.  I have been crazy busy and unable to post...but I am Kathy, DH is Ryan. We were married 8/1/09.  I grew up in Saco, DH in Biddeford.  I work at Dis Ins Co in Portland.  DH is a full time Nursing student at USM.  We currently reside in Saco.  We are currently trying for children.

    I am Gina, and FI is Travis. We will be having our wedding on October 9, 2010 with a Disney theme! Travis is a surgical Tech at CMMC, and I am a photographer for Life Touch! We dont have any kids and no pets for us :( We are looking to get a place of our own some time this winter so we can get setteled in before the wedding!

    My name is Rebecca and my FI is Matt. We are planning a September 17th 2011 (I know it's a ways a away, but I like to be prepared) That day will also be our 6th anniversary together! We have booked the Lakewood Inn Restaurant as both our ceremony and reception venue. We are going with an autumn theme. Matt is an Accountant for Tate-Fitch in Bangor and I am a student and Asst. Manager at Yankee Candle.We don't have any kids. We have a Welch Corgi named Tank, and two cats. An all black cat named Kreacher and an all white deaf cat named Keller.I will be on here more as the wedding gets closer and the planning gets more underway. For now I'm just gathering ideas and getting some questions answered.

    Im Jenni FI is Jeff. We are getting married June 19th 2010 in Newry at the artists covered bridge. We live in Greenwood & I (we, he's the only father they have ever known) have 2 children Brianna who will be 4 in December & Camden who is 1 1/2. Im trying to get things done. We have all of the vendors except cake booked & we're doing our own food. I have my dress & my daughters. We're doing lots of DIY because we couldnt afford a expensive wedding & an amazing honeymoon & I really really wanted the honeymoon, we're going to St Lucia!!!! Yeah I mostly board hop because this board is slow, I spend most of my time on June 2010 & DIY, I would love to see more people on here though!

    I'm a little late, but thought I'd still chime in!I'm Krissie & DH is Justin.  We were married 10/16/09 in Bangor.I work for the Federal Court and he works hospital security.We live outside Bangor and have one fur baby, a 1 year old Golden Retriever named Gus! :)

    Hello ladies! I'm Kristin, I'm from northern Maine (the county to be specific).  Currently a first year medical student at UNECOM (in Biddeford).  My fiance, Doug is also from Northern Maine, and currently works for Huber engineered woods as an electrician.  We got engaged in March (at Sunday River half way down la-lapalooza) and are planning a July 2011 wedding.  We're looking to have the ceremony in my home town, but the reception is still up in the air.  We're meeting with our first possible location when I go home for Thanksgiving.  Would love to hear from anyone from the county specifically if you have any ideas for photographer, DJ, cake, etc.  On that note, I would not recommend Fort Kent Photography, although he takes nice pictures he doesn't seem to have many new ideas and he's rather sketchy (he was the photographer at several weddings I went to this summer, and my fi's sister was in a wedding he did...not good experiences).Hey Jaime, I had Pat as my basic instructor a couple years ago! How ironic! :)

    I am SUPER late on this!!  Sorry, I've been a tad MIA lately b/c I started a new job!  ANYWAY!My name is Sarah and I married my husband Birdie (that's his nickname that everyone knows him by) on 07/25/09 :)  We were married at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Portland and had our reception at the Eastland Park Hotel!  I miss having the wedding to look forward to but DO NOT miss making decisions hahah I'm too indecisive!  We bought a house in Bangor a few weeks before the wedding and now live there with our two cats (Sparta and Macgyver) and our Puggle puppy (Dougie).  Birdie works at Best Buy, goes to school at New England School of Communications, teaches hip hop dance and DJs while I work at EMCC as an Advising and Retention Specialist, now that I've finished my M.Ed in Counselor Education at UMaine.    I'll try to stop in more often now that I've gotten used to my work schedule but feel free to email me any time with any questions you have about vendors!  I used Harmon's and Barton's for my florist, Mariko Brown for my photographer, Let Them Eat Cake for my cake, and the woman at Henry's Bridal (in Bangor) for my alterations!  We also stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya in the Riviera Maya Mexico for our honeymoon and we can't say enough good things about it!  We never would have found it if it wasn't for our FABULOUS travel agent Jennifer (if you want her # I'd be happy to give it out...she seriously is a life saver, and FREE!).  My email address is angelsmitty@hotmail.com.I hope all of your wedding planning has been going smoothly so far!!!
