Just a head up- this came to my attention when I was looking into Newport venues: The America's Cup races are being held in Newport from June 23-July 1, 2012. You might just want to keep this in mind for parking, hotels, crowds, traffic, etc. For my FI and I our date falls within that week so Newport is out for us, unfortunately.
