Need a creative twist on flower girl baskets?

We're having an outdoor wedding, the flower girls are going to be everything traditional- especially cute- and going to be dropping flower petals down the isle. But any better ideas than having them carry a basket? What did ya'll do?

    I'm not having a flower girl.  How old are the flower girls? 

    How about a shoulder sack? A purse?  A hat box with strings attached so they can carry it?  A bucket?  A watering pot?

    We are having our wedding in a botanical garden and we are using our 3 year old little girl. So instead of a basket we are making a flower ball with a think ribbon attached its really nice for a younger flower girl i think

    i think buckets with ribbon tried around sounds cute...but why do you want to not have baskets?

    I know it's still a basket, but it doesn't look like a traditional one.  I found small baskets at the thrift store, then covered them with moss and tied an ivory ribbon around the handle. Very cute and inexpensive.
