Another Venue Help Request!

Hi All,

I think I have looked through all the postings on this blog, and at every venue on the web but I am still having a hard time finding something I can afford and love! I am hoping that will everyone's experience they can find something to fit my vision! I am looking for a "unique" venue. I don't want something really out there but examples of places I love (but can't afford) are The Crane Estate, French's Point, and The Cranwell Resort. I love old stonework mansions or big estates. I don't want anything rustic, in a barn or tent. I am looking to have 125 guests for an indoor reception and I am willing to spend a max of $15,000 on food, alcohol and venue (all taxes and fees included). I would like something that is elegant, not too resorty and has places to stay near by. Anywhere in ME, VT, NH and central to northern MA are ok. Please help a future bride out!! Thank you!

  • I don't know if this is up your alley, but the Bedford Village Inn is quite elegant and beautiful, though it is a bit rustic in feel as well.  I think it's definitely worth checking out, if you haven't already!  It can get a bit pricey, but if you're careful with what days you pick and how you plan things (timing, more specifically) you can save some money there.  They also have a "hot dates, cool rates" promotion with some pretty heavy discounts (free ceremony, half off rental price, discount on food).

  • I am not sure how much they are but have you looked at the Willowdale estate or the topsfield commons. Both look GORGEOUS but again I have no idea how expensive they are.

  • Thank you Apple and Shannie!

I have looked at the BVI and was a little nervous about the price minimum but I think we could be flexible with the date and hopefully drop it some.

I looked at both the Commons and the Willowdale Estate and we are going to visit the Commons this weekend!

  • I'm not sure on the price but Searles Castle in Windham, NH is gorgeous! It was on our list of placse to look at but we chose Atkinson CC right when we saw it. We love Atkinson but I dont think it is along the lines of what your are looking for.
  • @manda1933 - Thanks for the suggestions! We went and looked at Atkinson and the ceremony space was great but the reception area wasn't the feel we were going for. I hope you enjoy your day there though!

  • I looked at BVI and they would probably be out of that budget.  Topsfield Commons would be a good option- I think you could do that all for $15,000 no problem and I hear their weddings are great!  It's also beautiful!

<div>I was married at Searles Castle in Windham, and it is amazingly gorgeous and elegant but certainly out of Spud's price range :(</div>

  • Belknap Mill in Laconia, NH
  • Thank you for your recommendations! We are starting to go and see some more of these places so I will let you know what we end up with!

  • I am getting married at Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown NH in July.  I fell in love as soon as we saw it.  Obviously there is a vineyard outside, and the reception area looks like a ski lodge, very warm, cozy, relaxing.  There are lots of different food options available so I definitely think they would fall within your budget!
