DJ Dancefloor Lighting

Does the dancefloor need lighting? Why do some companies offer it when others don't? If they do light it, how do you keep it from looking cheesy?

Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Depends on your venue but I think Dancefloor lighting is just one of those extras people get. Not a necessity but make the place look nicer. In terms of looking cheesy, you'll just have to see what different companies offer and what were they've done.

We went with Synergetic for our dance floor lighting and DJing because we were impressed with the work they've done. I'm going to leave it up to them to make it look nice.

I agree with PP, I think it depends on your venue.  I know that we have a band are probably have to get a "band wash" which is just generic lighting to keep them from being in the dark.  Anything beyond that, gobos, spotlights, pin lights, etc., are extras.
