Pipe and Drum Band at your Reception?!

My FH is a firefighter in the Boston area.  He went to the Firefighter Memorial in Colorado last year and has talked incessantly since then about the bands that played...not just at the memorial, but also at the bars for hours after.  He's shown me a few videos he took on his phone and it's pretty cool.

We're getting married in Florida, but having a reception back here after.  I've been considering surprising him with a Pipe and Drum Band....but wasn't sure what that might look like at a reception.  Maybe we could walk in with them playing?  Maybe they come marching in to surprise him later?  Anyone have something like this or been at a wedding with one?  I've contacted the Boston FIrefighter's band and await their response for cost/availability.  Suggestions? Ideas?

You should ask his department! I'm sure they could point you inthe right direction. My fiancé is a firefighter and my dad is a cop so we're trying to get one piper from each department. Depending on where the reception is, I also found some on google, but I think they were just pipers and not a full band. Let me know how you make out! Good luck

My friend's dad is in this group--hes a Boston policeman and just had the guys show up during her wedding! It was absolutely gorgeous and they took tons of pictures afterwards with her and the groom. They perform at the Southie parade every St Pattys day, and are definitely legit! You can hire them too-- would be cool to do for you fiance!
