  Most brides here do not care for national photography chains like the Pros.  You will be spending alot of time with your photographer and IMO, it is better to hire someone local that you can get to know before your wedding day, rather than being assigned by a company to just anyone.

  They're absolutely terrible.  For not much more than they charge, you can get a real, personal experience with a photographer.  Do yourself a favor and meet a few photogs, and don't count out destination photographers that can come to you if they are spectacular and reasonably priced.  Don't sell yourself short, regardless of your budget.  For the $1000-$1700 The Pros charge, you can really have something great I'm sure.

  I agree with Stephanie. Get a local photographer that you can communicate directly to. Most people hire a photographer because they like their personality and work. So do not hire a national company. Prices may be low and you get what you pay for.

  I didn't use them but I've ready horror stories on here from brides who have - if you're looking for a budget photographer, look at your local photo school for a student that'd be your best bet!
