Anybody have any ideas on how to have a beautiful wedding on a small very small budget?

Does anybody have any idea on how to have a wedding that is still very beautiful, modern, classic, sleek and chic on a very small budget?

check out The Standford in downtown lee's summit.  It is amazingly beautiful, has a lot included, and it outstandingly cheap.  The venue sets enough of a classy tone that you don't need to spend a lot of money on extras.

Prioritize!  Alot of things aren't really necessary!  Favors, a purse, programs, etc can all be cut out.  The DIY board is you're friend!  I made all my own invites, table names, escort cards, etc and saved hundreds for what I had!  Have an appetizers and cake reception.  I had a 7 o'clock wedding and did drinks and appetizers after, followed by dinner and everyone said it was too much food!  I could have saved alot and done appetizers only!

Sam's Club now does wedding flowers.  You can buy a couple dozen roses/hydrangeas/tulips for very reasonable prices.  They even have a couple kits that come with everything to assemble your boquets and centerpieces and boutineers.

Making things yourself can cut out so much of the expense of a wedding, watch Michael's they have a lot of sales on wedding things, a lot of times it is a 50% off discount.

If you are looking for a affordable photographer let me know....The photographer that I am using is 500 and that includes a 2hr engagement session and 6 hours on the wedding day. He is awesome!

I second the advice to prioritize! Think about the things that will matter most to you and your guests and then cut out the rest.  Also, have a small bridal party (that has added about $600 to our floral budget just buying the girls' bouquets plus about $500 on gifts for everyone).  And, if possible, keep it to a small guest list.

My best advice is to throw "what is expected" out the window and do what is meaningful and real to you.  You really don't need half the stuff that is hawked out there for weddings.  Take food, for example.  Who really remembers what you served at your wedding reception a year from now...six months from now.  You don't have to go for the prime rib.  And the gifts you give the attendants...unless they're really something special, I'd bet in a year they'll be gone.

Keep it simple...keep it meaningful.  Get your venues...you have to have those.  Get your preacher and your marriage license...you have to have those.  Everything else...negotiable.

Simple and personal...those make for beautiful weddings.

Something my friend did to save money on their cake was to get sheet or kitchen cakes and a small wedding tiered cake for pictures....
try out BellaRoca cakes... they had great prices! :)www.bellarocacakes.com

also, the american legion is a good way to go for a cheaper but good and flexible reception place.

Our wedding will be this November and our entire budget is $5,000. Most people thought that there was no way we could pull it off but we have almost everything and we're still under budget. We are having a morning wedding at Pilgrim Chapel with a seat down lunch at Brio (which is actually very very cheap!) I was very very lucky that I found my dress for $99 (originally at $1,100. I went to a bridal show and I didn't know that they had dresses for sale so I managed to arrive 10 minutes before they ended the show and they didn't want to take the dresses with them so they put all of them for $99!!!!
Also, we found a wonderful photographer also at that show for 50% off because we booked them there. I'm going to have one of the best DJs in the area and because it's a morning wedding I got a $600 discount.
My mom (who works at the canadian embassy doing events) is making my cake so that saves a ton and my invitations are from Hallmark Stationary (I work at Hallmark so I get 50% discount.) And my mom is also making my flower arrangements and we're buying the flowers in bulk online from a grower.
Don't worry, it's not necessary to get in debt for a wedding. You can make it classy, elegant and fun with a small budget, just look look and keep looking... you'll find things :) Good luck!

Save on FOOD and DRINKS whereever you can!! Yes, it's important to have good food and drinks, but don't spend a fortune on it. Believe it or not, at my wedding we had a "build your own sandwich" buffet with deli meats, cheeses, various rolls from Sam's Club, and condiments/toppings. We also had a fresh fruit tray, fresh veggie trays, deviled eggs, chips, and mixed nuts. We made everything ourselves and it really did turn out beautiful, everyone loved the food and raved about how great it was. I wouldn't recommend making your own unless you have a small group of guests (50 or less), LOTS of help, and a big enough fridge to store the food at the place you prepare it, as well as at the reception venue. But there are ways to do food cheaply, explore your options. I'd also highly recommend having your wedding on an "off" day, like Friday or Sunday. Mine was on a Sunday and that saved us at least 2,000 dollars on our venue alone. Good luck!

Do cupcakes instead of traditional cake. I have seen some cakes for $3 and up per serving but have found cupcakes for $2 a serving. Plus, you can do several different colors and flavors for added fun.

Use lots of candles instead of flowers for centerpieces. Candles are so much more romantic and cheaper!

Consider ordering your wedding dress online. There are some sites out there with dresses for under $250. I personally don't believe in spending tons of money on a dress I'm going to wear for 5 hours one day.

    Good luck!
