Re: wedding favors

  • Congrats on booking your wedding!

If you're on a tight budget, you could always skip the favors.  They're not necessary.  FI and I are actually skipping favors and doing a donation instead.

  • We're skipping favors as well.  Most people don't really care about them, I'd rather spend the money on good food and drinks!
  • We're doing these as our favors: http://www.weddingchicks.com/freebies/wedding-signs-labels/muah-favor-tags/

Found the molds online for under $2, with the free template for printing, sticks, cellophane, and chocolate they'll be less than 50 cents each! I wanted to do a little something and since we're trying to incorporate mustaches in our vintage wedding they're perfect!

  • We are doing girls scouts cookies, like 5 each favor! You could always do food! my cousin did pretzel sticks in chocolate! they were yummy and simple!
  • Or chocolates!  If you have a Lindt outlet boutique or Hershey's...you can buy them on sale.  I already priced out what I need and it'll be about $80 in total for the chocolate.  I just have to buy the packaging to put them in now and I can get that at Michael's for cheap too.
  • We won't be doing favours either.  We would rather put the money elsewhere because nobody really cares about favours...at least not edible ones! lol.  We are having a few glass jars around the guestbook and filling them with ferrero rocher (however you spell it) to match our brown and gold theme.  I am surprise your venue may not allow a candy buffet or edible favours though.

  • We are using pumpkin seeds from a company my brother works for (Gerbs) and then doing whoopie pies--two items that are totally us and completely edible.  My FI figured if they were left over he could eat them all:)
  • We are having a photobooth (got a sweet living social deal on one) you can customize them to have an image that says whatever you want so we are going to put our names and the date on it and using that as our favour.

  • Usually they only mean the catering when they say "no outside food". It's to ensure that the food is being cooked properly so the venue won't be liable.

My venue also said no food, but we're doing s'mores, pies, and our favors are DIY hot chocolate packets.

Hope that helped some! And if your venue still says no to food related favors, you could skip them! :)

  • We're also doing a photobooth! It's something fun for people and something they'll probably take and keep. We might do a small frame or something for them to keep their picture in, or a magnet.

  • Candles (personalized votives)
Personalized mini bottles of: soap/lotion/shampoo, etc.

If you really want to do favors but budget is tight, you could combine it into something else you want for the reception so it doubles: like using the escort cards as favors (tying th card to somthing else like bags of flower seeds) or your programs as favors, etc.
