    technically, if she's paying, then she does have the final say. it sounds like there's something deeper here. do you think she's sad that you're growing up and moving on? perhaps she's worried about the financial commitment? she might just be trying to wait until it's closer? maybe some mom/daughter time and a good talk could clear some of this up.

    Well. sorry but if she's paying for the wedding, while it's your wedding, it's technically her party.  One thing you'll find is that money usually comes with strings attached.  If you don't want the strings, don't accept the money.

    Can I ask how old you are?  That might have some bearing on your mom's lack of enthusiasm.

    Why would you delete this?  PPs were quite nice and offered some sound advice.
