Lexington Reception Sites

Hi, does anyone know of a good indoor CHEAP or relatively cheap reception site in Lexington? Everywhere I have looked wants thousands of dollars and then wants us to buy their catering services as well. We are open to ideas as long as it is indoors, in Lexington and I would hope it would have a dance floor but thats not a priority at this point. We are having about 160 people and will be serving alcohol. Im not looking for anything over $1000. Thanks!

For that many people, try the Tates Creek Ballroom (through Parks and Rec) or the Shriner's Temple Ballroom on Southland Drive. That's huge, btw.

OH! Or Arts Place. You might be able to rent multiple rooms and make it work. Or the Downtown Arts Center (same people).

You might also look in the neighboring towns. We started looking in Lex, couldn't find what we wanted, and ended up in Georgetown at a golf course.

The Thoroughbred Center is large & has lots of options within your price point, but you have to use their caterer, and their drink prices were too steep for me. Might be in your budget, though.

Try the Cardome Center in Georgetown. It's owned by a non-for-profit, so that makes it less expensive. You now can have alcohol and they recommend a caterer, but you can also choose your own.

We just decided on our reception site, but in the process I made a spreadsheet of all the pricing info, etc. for about twenty sites in Fayette County. If anyone wants a copy, you can give me your email adress and I can send a Microsoft Excell attachment.
