QOTD 12/15/10

What do you think is essential to the reception in order to have a good time?

Space. I totally think that even with all the best food, booze, and music you can't have a good time if you're in a really cramped space.

I have to agree with space after having been to a reception where I ended up seated at THAT table.  I was seated up against the wall and the table was so close to it that I had to squeeze to get in and out of my chair all night.  There was not much room to get around tables while people were seated, and there was almost no dance floor.

But also, I think an actual DJ if you want things to flow (or be wise about who you ask to DJ if working on a tighter budget). At another reception, a friend of the couple was doing the music but he kept stepping away to mingle and eat.  There were gaps of time between music and just absolute silence...awwwkwwaaard...

I think music is essential for a great reception, and an open bar!
