Guilty Pleasure Movies

We have talked about guilty pleasure songs before, but what about guilty pleasure movies? You know...movies that people are just shocked when you mention you like it and will watch it every time it's on, and you're kind of surprised at yourself that you'll sit through something like that.

I sometimes really hate to admit it, but one of my favorite movies is Zack & Miri Make a Porno - I have a big ol' girlcrush on Elizabeth Banks, an openly shameful attraction to Seth Rogan, and I am really drawn to Kevin Smith's work (Dogma, anyone? Clerks? Chasing Amy?). It's so raunchy and I just can't get enough of it.

Also topping my shame list is "Team America: World Police".

OK, share your shame.

I love Legally Blond! I've probably watched it a million times. She's such an airhead...but I love how she gets herself together, goes to law school and really finds her self worth. It's funny and I adore Emit. Favorite quotes:

"Girls, I'm going to Harvard" "What, like on Vay-cay?"
    "I'm taking the dog, dumbass!"
"Oh my god, the bend and snap! Works every time."

I also have a thing for Seth Rogan. =X

My guilty pleasure movies are tragic romances. I love them, but I don't want many people to KNOW I love them. Add music and I love it even more.

Examples... Moulin Rouge, Titanic, The Notebook.

And it CERTAINLY helps if there is some serious eye candy in the movie.

My guilty pleasure movies are probably Clueless and Penelope (<-- don't know why, but I absolutely adore that movie. Has anyone else even seen it?)

FI's hands-down is Waterworld. He was even a film major, so he's supposed to like good movies, but he will defend that one to the death.

Oh and bside, I love Kevin Smith's stuff too. Mallrats is probably another of my guilty pleasure movies, and Dogma is one of my all-time faves (I don't consider it a guilty pleasure cause it's legit awesome). I have the Buddy Christ action figure sitting on my desk at home (still in the box - I've never taken it out).

FI went as Buddy Christ for Halloween one year. It was awesome. "Dogma", as far as I am concerned, is a movie everyone needs to see. It was brilliant.

Have you ever seen Kevin Smith's Q&A documentaries "An Evening With Kevin Smith" or "Too Fat for 40"? They are beyond hysterical.

There are THREE of them! There's "An Evening With Kevin Smith", there's "Evening Harder", which is a little more difficult to find because it's two parts - one is a Q&A in Toronto, the other in London. And the third one is "Threevening", which came out more recently and is the funniest, in my opinion. "Too Fat For 40" came out a year ago, I think, and it's the shortest of all of them.

BF's brother recommended this movie so we went and saw it as one of our first dates. We were the only people there and since the student theater is sponsored by a local sex shop we also had to listen to that whole deal. It was just a tad bit awkward.

I LOVE Clueless. I will watch it over and over again but no one ever wants to watch it with me :( My cousin gave it to me for Christmas a few years ago and now I will put it on whenever I'm bored. I also really like Mean Girls.

Horary! It's so rare I find someone else who likes that movie :)

Yes a sex shop sponsors the student theater at the school I was at for my freshman year. It is super weird but it means two movies cost $2 which is awesome! They just do a promotional thing before the movies on like Tues. and Thurs. nights.
