Unique Venue for lots of Guests (Barn maybe?)

We're planning a wedding for next summer/fall (haven't set the exact date yet) and want to have our reception somewhere open and inviting. I would like to bring in my own food/catering and alcohol, and I would be willing to rent chairs/tables and everything else if needed. I'm not from the St. Louis area, but his family is from O'Fallon so I don't know a lot about where to start looking for venues. If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the most recent issue of the Missouri Knot. There was a beautiful reception at a barn. I think it was in O'Fallon, or nearby. I can't think of the name of it. I'd never heard of it.

My ideal barn-like wedding place is Cedar Lake Farm, which is in Wright City, a little west of O'Fallon. http://cedarlakecellars.com/ However, it was definitely not in my budget, so I settled for what many brides do in this area, and booked Quail Ridge Lodge http://parks.sccmo.org/parks/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=138&Itemid=178 The price difference is astounding, but at Quail Ridge you have to hire your own caterer and do most of the work yourself. Both are beautiful, it just depends what your budget is!

Some theatre spaces have room for a lot of guests, but can be pricey.

For Quail Ridge, how serious are they about the 11:00 check out time? If we rented for two days, do you know if they'd let us clean up the next day? We were planning on a later wedding, so having everyone out and clean by 11 would be hard.

I was wondering the same thing, I am getting married there October 27 and I'm curious if you can come earlier and stay later? I just can't seem to find anyone who has had a wedding at the Lodge.
  • There is a new venue you could check out called Dodson Orchards, here is the web site http://www.dodsonorchards Cool
