    I don't think I get it either...I mean, I see that it's supposed to be kind of liberating and all, but I think that your dress is one of the best memories you'll have 50 years from now. I'd hate to destroy it!

    I think it's a stupid idea. I mean, really....if you don't think you will ever get any use out of it again (such as giving it to your daughter, making another dress out of it, etc.) then sell it to a resale shop! Get some extra cash out of it!
