1920s shoes?

I've been browsing around online for ivory colored shoes for my 1920s theme wedding. I saw some actual wedding photos from the 1920s where the brides simply wore white Mary Janes, which I totally love. I've come across a couple pair of Mary Janes which are fairly cheap, I'm just not sure they look 1920s-ish.

This is the first pair that I'm quite fond of:

And here is the second pair:

I would get the second pair in white of course, if I chose that one.

What do you guys think? I really like the second pair, I think they would look beautiful with the dress I'm going to get.

Second pair by a long shot!  low-heeled mary janes were quite popular in the 1920s, as well as t-strap heels.  Have you considered t-straps?  Kitten heels are key, though.  How else would you be able to dance the Charleston?  ;)

Also, you might like reading this blog.  http://www.my1920swedding.com/ The lady who got married tried to do things a little more authentically than your average vintage bride. It's a good read.  She even has a section where she is on the hunt for 1920s wedding shoes.

  • I think that the second looks more like the 20s, so I picked that one. The other shoes also have really high heels. It might be more difficult/painful to walk around in them all night.

  • Definitely number two.

  • Thanks you guys! Nukke, thank you for sharing all those links! I bookmarked the 1920s wedding blog so I can go back to it! The second pair was my prefered choice, too, just wasn't sure if I was right about it having a "1920s" feel. Outsider opinions always help! :) Don't know if I'll go with those shoes or continue to shop around, but they are definitely on my list of possibilities!
