Nevada-Las Vegas

Any Local Brides?

Are any of the other brides here non-destination (i.e. Vegas locals)? If so I would love to hear about where you are getting married, when, vendor reviews, ideas, etc.

Thank you!

Well I am sort of local, I grew up in Vegas but I live in LA currently. My parents are still in Vegas. We went with the Four Seasons on the strip. We have mostly people coming in from out of town so we wanted it to be easy for them. At the same time, the Four Seasons is at the end of the strip and has its own valet so its easy to get in and out of for locals. We have had an amazing experience with them so far.

We are using Las Vegas Events and Floral for our flowers. Robin, the owner, has also been fantastic. The other vendor we absolutely love is our photographers Studio ATG. They do mostly local weddings. Their stuff is awesome!  If you want more just send me a PM. We have not had any bad experiences yet, we mostly went of recommendations from other vendors.

    We live in Henderson.

When we first began planning, we were going to use View215 (Russell Rd. @ I-215 on the west side) for our ceremony and reception.  At the time, we were budgeting $8k for about 100 people.  Stuff happened and we scaled back to $5k for 25 people.

Initially, we wanted to avoid the Strip altogether, but looking at some of the hotel chapels, we saw that it would work for us to use a package that included the ceremony, flowers and some photography.  Then we would take our guests for dinner to a restaurant.

Eventually, we decided on the Mandalay Bay for several reasons --

    * We loved the look of the chapel (be sure to tell them you're locals).
    * You don't have to go through the casino to get to the chapel (many in my family have respiratory issues).
    * Several excellent restaurants are within a short walk of the chapel.
    * The MB is at the southernmost end of LV Blvd, so the traffic isn't nearly as bad as it is further up.

You can find my reviews in both my bios (located in sig).  Only sad face for me is the restaurant where we had our dinner, Rumjungle, has since closed.

    HTH!

Not exactly local but FI's family all live in Henderson.  We're getting married at the Revere Golf Club - I really wanted to stay away from the strip for the wedding and the Revere's ceremony / reception packages fit right in with our budget.  They're also extremely willing to work with you / change things around if the packages don't quite fit your needs.  We're looking at having 100+ people.

We're using Springtime floral (recommended by the Revere) and Pure Energy Productions for our DJ.  We also set up our room block at Green Valley Ranch.

Hey there! I'm local, live in the Southwest. I'm getting married this Saturday actually at EAQ(Emerald @ Queensridge) in Summerlin, right next to Boca Park and JW Marriott. It's a beautiful location. We're using their photography and bakery.

We're having LMG Attractions for the DJ and Rev. Peter Billiterri for our officiant. And Francesca L. for MUA. They have been all great to work with so far. I will come back with reviews after the wedding of course.

If you have any more questions just post here or feel free to PM me! Good Luck!

We're doing a courthouse wedding.  We want to keep it intimate and simple.
    I'm not good at feelings.

I'm not local, but if I were, I'd have gone with Cili Restaurant at Bali Hai Golf Club (2 mins south of Mandalay Bay).  Check out my scouting trip review of them  (I posted it about 4 days ago, it's called "Scouting Trip Reviews-Hella Long.  Part I: Ceremony Spots").

We're getting married this coming Saturday as well.  The ceremony will be at our church and the reception will be at the Black Mountain Golf & Country Club in Henderson.  They are taking care of all of the reception details (centerpieces, food and they took care of arranging the DJ and Photographer).

The DJ we're using is Good Vibrations (they've been amazing to work with so far) and the photographer is John Lunetto (he doesn't have a website, but I've seen 3 books of his work for the past 11 years, mostly at Black Mountain, but he works out of other venues as well and I love his pictures) and he has been so nice to work with (he even made arrangements with our pastor to tour the church last week and work out all the details with the church).

We're getting our cake from Albertson's bakery - it's delicious and the price is great.

Flowers are being done by a friend of the family (he's working on the final hours of classes so that he can hopefully get his own shop in the next year or two).

I'd also be happy to answer any questions you might have - just ask.

Henderson here and I'm also going with the Revere Golf Club (the day after direy). Our guests are staying wherever they like and we'll be doing a shuttle bus or two to get them to the venue and back to the strip. Staying at the Trump and super excited about the deal I got there!

Another local here.  We are renting a vacation home (estate) and doing a backyard ceremony and a non-traditional reception with dinner that will probably turn into a pool party.  We have approx 50 guests.  The owner allows us to do just about anything as long as we put it back the way we found it.  PM me if you want pics or contact info.

Other than that, I have booked a photographer, Steve Fogarty.  I like him.  He's quirky.  We got a great discount, and his style is different than lots of others.  He describse it as a photo-journalism style.

Next step: working on a caterer.  Hoping to go with Two Chefs To Go.  They cook on-site.

    HI,

I am local live SE Vegas.  We are getting married at Lakeside Weddings May 28th.  I didn't want a "Vegas" wedding at all and fell in love with Lakeside the minute I saw it.  I grew up on a lake in Wisconsin so this fits perfect.

Lakeside is all inclusive so we are using whatever vendors it comes with.  So far everyone I have met with have been great.  The venue holds 200.  There is 256 on the list however we know that most of them will not be able to make it since most everyone is out of state.  I sure hope nobody makes a surprise visit...haha

Hi Kristen -- we ended up going with Lakeside too! Only a couple of weeks after your wedding, June 12th. 75 people -- Heritage Garden & reception will be in the room that's closest to the Heritage Garden. I'm not sure what it's called. I'm having difficulty deciding on our "colors." I love all colors! I guess I just want to pick whatever goes best with their decor. Something classy and elegant -- all ivory & green maybe? Ugh I don't know this is driving me crazy. As is deciding on what type of music to play! My fiance and I both like a more relaxed, sophisticated ambiance and would be fine if no one danced. We are not sure if our guests would want to dance or not but I don't want Britney Spears or the Electric Slide at my wedding as it's not my taste.

Local here, too!  Henderson residents abound!. :)   Woohoo.

We've looked at three places so far (it's my intent to visit at least 5 sites before making a final decision).

We've been to TPC Las Vegas (Loved it), Siena (Thumbs down.. terrible experience unfortunately) and Rio Secco (Amazing ceremony site! WOW).   Right now it's a tie between TPC Las Vegas and Rio Secco.   TPC is a bit better in price and inclusions -- plus their coordinator is incredible.   Rio Secco.. the ceremony site is drop dead gorgeous and the reception venue is larger, also has more of an open feel.
