Help with EVERYTHING in La Porte, IN

Hi,

After MUCH debate and stress, my fiance and I have decided to get married in his home town (La Porte, IN) instead of mine (near St. Louis, MO) because more people close to us will have less travel. However, I JUST moved to the South Bend area and know NOTHING about the La Porte area. We're getting married next October (2011) and have hopefully picked the venue (Heston Hills-- which will do the catering, bar, ceremony, and reception). Anyone have any suggestions for DJs, photographers, hotels for out of town guests, florist, limo, salons, hmmm... am I missing anything? LOL. Any advice/suggestions would be great! Thanks!!

    What is your budget for photography?

    Danieliza1127 used that venue, so you coul probably ask her to see who she used.

    Check out Amanda Fales Photography!  I was married in South Bend and she traveled there for no extra fees, and I cannot speak highly enough of her talent, photos, and personality!

    I am using Amanda Fales as well.  Her photos are amazing!
    I would also recommend using a planner; especially since you do not know the area!  We are using Merry Me Events.
    02.26.11 is the day I finally marry the love of my life...

    They are currently in Bloomington, IN, but they're moving to Bloomington, IL.

    Hey there!  I am getting married in LP (live in Austin TX right now) in July 2011.  I am doing mainly a DIY at my parents house. But we did find a photographer out of chicago that we are so excited about and she is reasonably priced.  Her name is Victoria Sprung.  Hotel - looks like Best Western is the best.  The just re did it and it has a hotel bar/restaurant and a pool. Not that you will need the pool in October.  They also worked with us on a better rate.  If you have tips that you find on hair/makeup etc. Let me know!!

    Oh and Bernacchi is a great florist in LaPorte.

    I'm from Michigan City and my fiancee and I are getting married there so its super close to LaPorte.  Hannah Grace Photography is great and very reasonably priced shes based in South Bend.  The Flower Cart is a great florist in Chesterton which is pretty close. If you need a cake Sharon Sawaya is AMAZING and shes in LaPorte. There are a ton of hotels in Michigan City..including the Blue Chip Casino hotel, athough thats pricey.

    I have been working with Thode florist and I can not tell you how much they are going above and beyond!  Amazing!
